Did man really go to the moon?

Why were they faked? Why did the Soviets at the time go along with the deception?

At least REM got a hit out of it!

Kudo's on your achievement. My degree in computer systems engineering gives me credit too.

Then - within your own topic of expertise in computer hardware, what technology exists now that did not then that enables the moon mission?

Saving links and footnotes to every resource about my plight is not something i do. I'm just trying to open minds to the fact that what you are told is not always truth... as you challenge me here on. If you are so closed minded and stuck in your theory then fine that's you and I'm me. This thread is called "Did man really go to the Moon?, Or were the Apollo landings faked?". Not "We Went to the Moon and that's Final". I have spoke my mind as others have. I have not challenged your words as you have mine. Like is said just think maybe.. and maybe your learn something... else.

You won't open many minds without the right kind of opener, i.e. extraordinary proof to prove extraordinary claims. Claiming a conspiracy exists is fine, if you can back it up with either your own arguments or at least links to where you draw your information so that can be challenged in turn. By the way, while it's hard to convey tone in writing, I'm really not trying to be unfriendly, but encourage to bring forward specific arguments for us to examine.

The best evidence against the moon landings is that, had they landed there, they would have encountered the Nazi moonbase. They didn't, so they didn't.

For anybody who can’t be bothered to look back over this entire thread I found the all conclusive evidence from “Latecomer “posted in June 2005

What specific technology is now available that could get man to the moon but could not 50 years ago?

I have re-read my initial quote and believe i should have not stated it so matter-of-factly. Also re-saying my quote "Honestly speculating upon hearsay". I do not believe we had technology to get us to the moon 50 years ago... Technology to get there YES, ability to send a live human, NO. As for current technology, honestly im not sure. I don't work for NASA, Ratheon, Lockheed Martin, Boeing, etc, or a super secret area 51 type defense agency. Either do you!

How did they get through the Van Allen radiation belt.

The article you linked to explains how. The quality of conspiracy theorist not what it used to be, at least djcrazy would put some effort into finding a site that had the appropriate pseudo science.

Apollo Moon Landing hoax conspiracy theories
Just found this Wiki page. Not too bad i think for Hoax and anti-Hoax info. Like i said, i like to look at both sides of the coin.

You're just digging yourself deeper. Please tell us what specific technology was missing that would allow them to get there, but not get there with humans.

OK, we're narrowing it down. You believe we could send a rocket to the moon and retrieve it, but not keep someone alive inside it. Which technology do you doubt in particular? Oxygen supply, temperature regulation in space or during reentry, sealing of shuttle? Keeping someone alive should be the easy bit, frankly, despite the many challenges. Do you acknowledge at least that the ISS exists and is a functional orbital science laboratory or do you consider that a myth as well?

ya know every "claim" that a tin foil hat wearing person like myself can say to you here has an equal rebuttal out there. all the hoax claims have been maid and all of them have been "debunked" by someone else. Same with JFK, same with Pearl Harbor, same with 9/11, same with cigarettes. We/I am just different than you are, that's it. I accept it. I like my foil hat, it fits me nicely. MANY others do as well. You just keep watching your TV, playing your x-box and let the man keep you in your place. Not me, my place is to question what I'm told. I implore you too as well. Now go ahead and try to crinkle my hat, i have lots of foil.

The US will be back on the moon by 2018 - with the Orion spacecraft and Ares rockets. It will also serve as a shuttle replacement.

another-new-user, how do you explain the Lunar Laser Ranging Experiment?

What specifically should the astronauts do on their next visit to the moon to prove to those people who don't believe it? Should they land in the Sea of Tranquility once more and walk around where man has already been?

I can't wait till Mythbusters' Jamie Hyneman and Adam Savage do the Apollo Moon Landing hoax.

Its funny how people bash ones spelling or grammar when they have nothing else intelligent to say. Sorry i didn't proof read.

I just love the way that people think that a teeny tiny possibility of something which has been espoused by some anonymous nutjob on the internet is valid 'evidence' against an overwhelming mass of collated data and scientific evidence collected over years by some of the finest scientists the world has ever known

Hey guys and gals on both sides - lighten up! I am completely agnostic on this topic, but there has been so much complete shite written by both sides, that neither side has a clue as to how to deliver a convincing position. As a scientist (yes I do have a University Science degree), there is nothing I hate more than people proposing a "scientific" position without being able to back it up. Wikipedia, NASA, Governments ... none of this counts! Rational arguments are all that count - accreditable research helps, but folks, research is by definition exploratory in nature, and therefore does not guarantee a factual position. Anybody who calls themself a scientist, but is not open to constantly question his/her position, cannot be considered a true scientist.

Just to clarify my position on the topic, I think that NASA is behind the conspiracy theories relating to the obviously faked lunar landings. They clearly have done this to divert attention from their fake Mars explorers, which are clearly a figment of our imaginations, and just sending pictures taken around Chernobyl, and pretending they are from Mars - or not - shit I'm really confused now, maybe the Mars pictures are real, but the Paris Hilton ones are not - shit, this really is too complex.

The Mythbusters episode is coming.

QUOTE
"We built a hybrid rocket that was fueled by poo and nitrous oxide — thought we had enough Teflon tape on the seals but the stink got through anyway. Too bad that the footage got lost in transit to the editors," Hyneman told collectSPACE.com, explaining that their limited budget would not cover the cost of regular rocket fuel.

Apparently they also got Phil Plait (the "Bad Astronomer") on board to advise for the episode.
