I am currently taking a German class at Tandem Hamburg in Altona. I really like it there. The class sizes are small at 5 to 13 persons, so there is lots of personal interaction, you can ask all the questions you want and get constant help with pronounciation. Classes are 5 days a week for 3.5 hours a daz with a 20 or so minute break in the middle. Classes cost 100 euros a week. I know there are other schools as well. Try searching on Toytown, this is where I found out about Tandem. I know there are some community colleges in the area that are a bit cheaper and are just two nights a week, with larger classes. I am looking currently for a night class for my husband, so I will post more info as I discover them. Hope this helps.

do you know if Tandem works in terms? or is it possible to go casual? i may be in Hamburg for 3 weeks, and think it would be great to do a short course. Will check out Toytown also like you suggest. also, is the focus at Tandem more on vocab or grammar? whats the style of teaching? Cheers!
