Can I buy soy cheese anywhere in Munich?

Thanks
Katrina
Hi, you should be able to get soy cheese in any health food store with a chiller cabinet. TT search brings up these threads and while they are mostly about burgers and hotdogs, quite a few health food stores (sometimes known as Reformhäuser) are listed. Basic Bio would certainly be worth a go.
Look for words such as "Vegankäse" or "Sojakäse".

I have looked all over for Soy Cheese, and have not found it, I have checked all Reformhauses and BioShops, no luck.

Does that taste like shite or what?

Can't imagine why you would want to find it, but the Grüner Markt at Altperlach has it in the chiller cabinet so I'm guessing other branches would as well (Grüner Markt website).
Or there are vegan mail order sites on the Web that will send it, e.g. without.de and ein-besseres-leben.de.
Didn't try the Redwood brand "like cheddar" (yeah, I bet) that besseres-leben has, but the Scottish Scheese is 'orrible IMHO. I suppose possibly (just possibly) better than nothing if you can't eat cheese for health reasons.

I checked the one in Haidhausen a long time ago, and they looked at me like I was weird when I asked for it, so I will have to check, as I just gave up.

I've seen this stuff in Bio-Corner in Neuhausen because I buy their smoked tofu. It's actually made in Munich.

Yeah, I'm not really looking forward to the soy alternative, but it's looking like I'll have to make the switch. I'm not planning on eating it plain (raw?), but it should be okay for casseroles.

You can get it in the vegan deli attatched to Zerwirk, Ledererstr. It s the Sheese stuff. I bought some there last week and sad to say, it is pretty foul but maybe its better melted.. have yet to try that.
