Which airline offers the cheapest tickets to bristol other than BA? Dont mind changing/connecting.

Cheers

Think KLM do flights via Amsterdam.
Deccie
the only cheap flights from Bristol to Germany is Easyjet, but they only fly to Berlin (Schoenefeld) or Hamburg.

Budget Airlines!

damn.. all munich-bristol flights have been cancelled due to the flybe takeover sad.gif
MonksTown
Eh?
You mean the BA Munich-Bristol flight?
What Flybe takeover?

When it first openened I got a return Munich-Bristol return for € 130 or so, not bad at all.
But the minute the promotion ended it jumped to € 230 even looking 10 weeks or so plus in advance.

I've looked into changing at AMS, Paris and all the rest of the gubbins.
At the end of the day for the West Country and South Wales it's gotta be Thiefrow.
Note that the buses from LHR to Bristol are now separate from the London ones so there is only a service every 2 hours. Which is shite.

And book them bus tickets in advance otherwise is 35 quid a pop return.

it's mad... i really hope flybe take over the route ... ohmy.gif

Cheers STB, I don't watch Tony fucking Blairs telescreen the mainstream news media so I'd have only picked that up on here.

Dunno what it is with flights from Munich to regional destinations in the UK, it just seems that they are destined to always fail.
Don't know if it is the Munich charges, the unprofitable chav price level customers like us lot or simply not enough passengers.

This time its just flybe slashing routes. Its not just bristol > munich, my parents had booked bristol > zurich, and that route has gone now as well sad.gif

Lufthansa are flying the Frankfurt/Main - Bristol route direct from 30th March 2008.

Can anyone who flys / travels this route tell me how it works with the buses and stuff?

Not been on uk buses for many moons.

Just coming up with stopovers in A'dam up to end of March and then options on F'furt after that.

Roughly 250 yoyos return for both.

The way it works for me is just to go to Heathrow central bus station and use National Express
MonksTown
Depends how much money and time you have and where exactly you are heading to.

The QUICKEST way is Heathrow Express into Paddington and then out again on a Bristol bound Inter City train.
The cheapest way is a pre-booked National Express coach from Heathrow.
Check the timetables carefully.

The cheapest way I've found (not necessarily the easiest though) is to fly with EasyJet or Air Berlin to Stansted, then to get the National Express back to Bristol. Word of warning though, if you get the "direct" bus, it stops over at Heathrow for 55mins and costs 43.50 quid. If you get the coach to London Victoria, change there and get another back to Bristol it can work out a lot cheaper (10 quid Stansted-London then from a fiver London-Bristol if you book in advance). Also, if you time it right, it's actually quicker...

Admittedly this works better when travelling Bristol-Stansted as opposed to Stansted-Bristol as the Stansted fares are a tenner whenever you book them, but you need a specific coach in mind to get the cheap "Funfare".

Just so you know, like!
MonksTown
Did it via Stansted ONCE and will NOT be doing it again. It took almost THREE HOURS on the coach to get round London as far as Heathrow to get onto the M4.
If you are heading for Wales or the West Country, Heathrow is the only way to go I'd say.

You're right, it can be a proper pain in the arse, especially during peak times & weekends but sadly my wage here in Munich doesn't leave me with much of a choice sad.gif
