Hi all,

My husband and I are hobbie photographers keen on taking photos of interesting abstract things and old industrial buildings.
Can you maybe suggest an interesting place, reachable by S-Bahn where it might be suitable to shoot?

Thanks!

There is a lot of graphiti along the S6 if you are into that...

Just take the S2..

Get out at 3 or 4 random stations and spend 30 mins wandering around.. Ultimately ending in Erding.. a quaint village!

Ostbahnhof and around where Kunstpark Ost used to be. The remains of the Pfanni factory might be what you are looking for. Close into town too.

or head out to the old station at olympia park? Heres the TT thread about it (ta grinner)

The Pinakotek der Moderne seems like a good spot for interesting pics...speaking of which.,..anyone know if they allow tripods?
Jack
Inside? I'm not even sure if you are allowed to take photos inside.
erdbeere
yea, you are definately allowed to take pics inside... i've seen a bunch...some on here I think, and some on photo.net

Photography in the Pinakothek der Mocderne? Sure.

Tripods? Not without prior written permission from the PR office.

Actually, you were partly correct. It's usually not allowed to take photographs of the actual exhibits/paintings since this infringes the artist's copyright, potentially damages the paintings and, more to the point, upsets postcard sales.
Jack
Actually that's what I thought myself and as far as I can remember it is forbidden in the Alte and Neue Pinakothek. Like I said, you live and learn.

Perhaps Landsbergerstr. between Hackerbrücke and Donnersbergerbrücke? You've got the Zollamt, Hackerbrücke & Augustinerbrau all in that area, and all quite nice. For a different slant, you could try Frankfurter Ring between Ingolstädterstr. and Studentenstadt, along with Dachauerstr. North from Schwere-Reiter Str. to Georg-Brauchle Ring. There's enough industrial/residential along those two routes to paint Munich as a picture of sprawling urban blight, desperate poverty, mixed with failed urban renewal projects. I've done it, it works.
