interesting event and met lots of nice people. smile.gif

Tomorrow (Sunday 15th August 2004) is suppose to be dry and sunny (?) Let’s hope so.

I suppose things might dry out, but will you really start the game even if it's raining like this? Is there an alternative date?

Hi! Is the match still on? Which teams are playing?

It has started to be come slightly better weather wise now..and I am wondering whether I should take a risk and head on down to the English gardens... unsure.gif

Hi there!

It turned out to be a perfect day for the cricket game afterall. The Indien Institute played against the Munich International Cricket Club. I am totally new to the game so I really don't know who won or lost but I shall definately go again. The indian Chai tasted great and talked to some really nice people! Its just a totally different ball game smile.gif

heard there was nearly a riot when someone was given out lbw and refused to leave field?

poor show.

anyway with it being indian independence day shouldnt they have been playing an english team?

I've heard that the Munich International CC are a team known for contesting LBW decisions (well those that dont go their way anyhow). Would place a large amount of hard earned Euros on MIC's captain being the root of Sundays problem.
Must have been a bad day all round for the MIC with Luftnansa being confirmed as Munich Cricket Champions. bad luck chaps.
Uncle Jamal
5 eurines to see the MICC??? Kinell.

Reminds me of days way back..when we used to have friendly cricket matches at home...Nobody wanted to be purely be an umpire..so two people were used from the team which was batting...and there used to be so many fights over the Lbw and run-out decisions...It was expected that it would be very difficult to get anyone out LBW or run-out unless it was too obvious tongue.gif

BTW I was surprised that both the teams were predominantly Indians. It would been more fun if it was a Brits versus Indian game..or even better..an India Pakistan match smile.gif

I don't think many players would leave the ground alive if you held that in Munich!!!
alanbail
dunno. nothing against the indians, make great curries and tend to bowl spin, perfect.

I am not sure Hazza why you say that ..there is really no big rivalry or hard feelings between the brits and the indians..I am sure everyone would leave the ground alive...smile.gif

But anyways the Brits are no real competition..me thinks...all the recent encounters I can remember...they have lost most of their matches..and not just with India wink.gif
Hazza
You've obviously never been to an MCC v MIC game here in Munich...
