Careful, you might end up with curried Turkey !
And I'd probably enjoy it, despite the promise to myself to avoid it for another year!

@OG well when I first went you could get a basic curry for 50p. So it was indeed an age ago but must be post-decimalisation in 1971.

Mmmm Samrat is my fave curry house, but unfortunately I can't make it (eating curry with an upset tummy isn't a good idea!)
have fun

take a leaf out of Roots' book. Curries have proven healing qualities. Come and enjoy the spice!

So what bar should we go to afterwards? I was thinking about starting up another thread so non-curry eaters could join up with us curry eaters later. Any suggestions?

Jan 4 2005, 9:51 am
Should be somewhere close bar, do not want to walk/travel too far afterwards. How about Kilians/Ned Kelly's ?
Owain Glyndwr
Jan 4 2005, 10:10 am
is that close?
err
Sendlinger Tor to
Marienplatz 10 min walk?
how about a non Irish/Aussie bar for a change?
Lamms is right on Sendlingertorplatz, would make a change?

Is that the one with the big cellar, beneath the cinema?
Owain Glyndwr
Jan 4 2005, 10:21 am
well, its in a big cellar. right next to the Tor. Can't remember 'bout the Kino.
Winegirl
Jan 4 2005, 10:47 am
So Lamms? Is it a cool place? Not overly expensive?
3 Lions
Jan 4 2005, 10:48 am
Not exactly. But its pretty handy if you want to continue drinking till 6 in the morning, I think it stays open till about 7am.

Jan 4 2005, 10:48 am
Easy to find is also a key thing here ! As I am guessing we can find it together, but the others meeting later have to find it themselves !
Owain Glyndwr
Jan 4 2005, 10:50 am
@ Winegirl: cool? not really. but has a much more "bayerisches" feeling to it. big tables in alcoves and a small bar area. food and drinks. open 24-7. usual münchner prices. def cheaper than most ex-pat bars.
tis only a suggestion. if you want to go somewhere with a bit more "life" then we can pick somewhere else.
Owain Glyndwr
Jan 4 2005, 10:51 am
@pepper: very easy to find. right on the corner next to the Tor. you can't really miss it.
but like i said, if we want to go somewhere a bit lively, we should chose somewhere else.
Winegirl
Jan 4 2005, 10:52 am
Let's start there. It's someplace different and it's close. We can always move if we don't like it. I'll start another thread.

Well 14 people down for the Curry, hope we can all fit in, its not a big place. Well looks like we will run the place this evening.

table is currently reserved for 14 people. It might be 15 if Mrs Glyndwr decides to grace us with her presence.

Jan 5 2005, 12:21 pm
Mrs. Tets also may or may not be coming so there'll either be a space or Mrs Glyndwr will have to sit on my lap.
Hi there - it's another newbie here!
I've only been in Munich for a few weeks so thought it's about time I should come along tonight to meet some of you.
I might have actually met a couple of TT's at TB on New Year's Eve (I think I met winegirl and shaggy) since I was there with some other non-TT's. Still not sure I'll recognise you if I see you again since I was enjoying all that German beer which doesn't really help the memory

so I guess I'll just ask around 'til I find your table tonight.
I'll add my name to the curry booking page.
Looking forward to meeting everyone!
Grinner
Jan 5 2005, 12:37 pm
Will be there from about 18.30 with my Drinking head on...
I would also like to suggest Next weeks meet..
21.00 hrs at the Sitar... So that Aquatic and french bloke may join in..
After all, without their efforts, none of this would be happening,,, as we know it , anyway.
What says you lot ... Poll?

Hi Ski!
Remember meeting your table of people but not sure which one you were. Guess we'll find out tonight! You'll have no prob finding our table. The reservation is usually under the name Toytown but you can also just look for a large group of people.
It is 7:30pm, guess grinner just wants to get a head start on the drinkin'

Owain Glyndwr
Jan 5 2005, 3:14 pm
Katrina, i would just come along.
there is always room for a little one. Grinner is going along early and he has said he will make sure the seating arrangement is suitable for us so we add extras on.

Owain Glyndwr
Jan 5 2005, 4:30 pm
well, i can't promise, cos the restaurant is small. but i would highly suggest coming along cos history has shown that either /A/ there are no-shows or /B/ we can squeeze more people in than anticipated.
i would suggest to all, that you arrive faily punctually so you are guaranteed your seat.

Jan 5 2005, 5:25 pm
I'll be along around 18:45. Because I'm thirsty, not because I don't want to sit on the floor
Wouldn't mind tagging along if there is room for 1 more.
