New Delhi was definitely GOOD. However, according to the roster in the archive Sarovar would be the venue this week. Not trying to be awkward, just pointing it out. I can't come anyway...

Hi All,
Want to watch British Indians taking a piss out of themselves etc...I have aqcuired a goodness Gracious me DVD of the thrird series. If there is interest then we can watch this round my place after
curry night with a few drinks I have handy, mainly beer and Cider unless you want to bring some booze yourselves.
If you do not know what Goodness Gracious me is about. Heres the link...
http://www.bbc.co.uk/comedy/guide/articles..._66601650.shtmlThis is a script from one of the scenes...
Let's Go for an English Another of my favourite sketches is the "Let's go for an English" sketch - the traditional Bombay Friday night out - getting tanked up on lassis and going out for an English ...
Girl1: "I say young man, you’re my 'mite' aren’t you, Jamid."
Girl 1 to Girl2: "Jamid's my 'mite'".
Waiter: "Actually it's James.
Girl1: "Jams, yes that's what I said!"
Girl1 to Girl2: Hasn't he got lovely pale skinia, it's really nice and pasty looking."
Girl 2 to Girl1: Yeah, you know what that say about white men..."
Man1: "All right, all right, what are we having now?"
Man1: "First off we'll have 10..., no 12 bread rolls, and bring a pack of that fancy stuff..."
Man2: "Butter?"
Man1: "OK, main course what's everyone having?"
Man2: "What's the blandest thing on the menu?"
Waiter: "Scampi is particularly bland."
Man2: "I'll have that and bring a fork and knife."
Man1: "I'm gonna have the same as him, except I'm also gonna have... prawn cocktail."

Sorry guys I can't make
curry night again this week. I've got some friends visiting for a couple days and have to do sightseeing, touristy stuff. Probably won't be able to make it till after x-mas either. There's just too much stuff going on in December...

jeeves, I think we said last Wednesday that we would leave the "Adventures of Curry" until the new year due to the fact that many people have alot on in the next few weeks, and then they won't miss out on new places.
I wouldn't mind hitting New Delhi again now that my work party has been put on hold.

Dec 15 2004, 12:18 pm
never too late to be honest, well maybe after 9pm.
As far as I know it is New Delhi this week again @ 7:30pm, and then after New Years we will get back with the visiting new places list.

Dec 15 2004, 3:34 pm
OK, Looks like it will be me +2...
But will not get there till round 2000/2030
Any chance to move the Res. to 20:00 or 20:30...
How long do ya'll usually stay?
false
Dec 15 2004, 4:24 pm
We normally order around 19:50 or after.
I don't think that changing the reservation would be fair at this stage.
Typically if you order a bit later they will still bring it out at the same time.
We will be there I'd say til after 9.30 pm anyway, possibly after 10pm. Come along don't worry too much about being late.

A bit off topic, but I'm not sure where else to post it. At the Sitar last night I was informed that someone had left their handshoes behind - no idea who, what colour, or from how long ago (other than "recently"), but if you've (relatively) recently lost some handshoes, and were at the Sitar at around the time you lost them, you might want to drop by and ask (they said they'd hold on to them).
They don't have any feetgloves though, just handshoes.

Yummy yummy food and great service. Best so far in Munich I must say. We left at 1 a.m only because we didn't wanna miss the last train
After some of you left, all the staff sat with us and we had several rounds of whisky on the house and we also sang a bit

Nice friendly blokes they were. Special thanks to our waiter Ravi.
Darknight and smartini, it was really a pleasure meeting you both.
New Delhi is definitely a must re-visit place.
Thanks for a great night guys.

Yeah for the three free whiskey's,

and cheers to Ravi & Mr. Nar for treating us like kings last night. Veggie samsosa were lovely along with the Karachi (sp?) Chicken. The Hindi songs were an interesting way to finish off the night.
Great to meet ye Darknight & smartini
I won't be around for next weeks adventure due to locational problems.

So really, was it the best so far? Better than Ganga? I seem to remember that they gave you free bottles of booze in there as well.

@topsy
So far New Delhi and Sangeet top the list for service. Can't beat Sangeet for ambiance. As far as free booze is concerned, you need that special Indian connection to get stuff like that.

I would like to start the New Year off with a nice curry, since i am suffering from withdrwel symtoms.
so here is my suggestion for the location for this week (recommended by a fellow non-curry-night-regular TTer):
SAMRAT

The address is:
Papa-Schmidt-Strasse 1 (reachable by Tram 17, 18, 27 and U3 & U6
Sendlinger Tor.
I will take care of the reservation this week.
