Why do you need to the tell the restaurant the number tonight? Just curious. Most people sign up tomorrow and wednesday so I would wait.

Nah don't worry. If they say anything, I will be Grinner this week. Grinner only walked out with 4-5 guys, I will make sure I will walk out with entire restaurant

Spend an hour wandering around Lehel or wherever we were last week looking for better service but can't be arsed to travel half a mile into the "wrong" side of town. What happened to your sense of adventure?

Yeah I'm with Jeeves. I don't know where Grinner lives but OG has an easy route to this place. U4->HBF->U1->restaruant. Definitely would get there before we finally got to New Dehli last week

No wonder the turnout is dropping... Christmas stuff going on anyway, but no-one knows who is eating what and where any more! I've lost the plot completely, and just hope AM isn't crying in a corner somewhere after all his effort

btw for the plan, there is a restaurant virtually next door to Café Wiener Platz that I would like to try. Anyone else been there already?

First time I've been there and I thought the service was good without being obtrusive. Food was good but nothing to really rave about (mine was chicken jalfarezi). The waiter asked us all if we wanted "normal or spicy" and all of us (I think) said "normal", not knowing what his frame of reference was. I should have said "spicy". Ravski persuaded them to give us a free schnapps to end up with and they gave us some really rather good rum.

Also rather nice was the strawberry whatever they gave us in Wassermann's afterwards when Makaay scored the equaliser. First time I've ever wanted Bayern to score another goal.

Owain, isn't this the one EditorBob posted about a few weeks ago? Some visitor was raving about it. Very handy for me after work, would love to try it some time.

As a last minute late entrant I thought the special chicken dish was really good. I thought the atmosphere was relaxing and the decor was pleasing to the eye.

The service was quick and the portions were big. I managed to speak a bit of the the lingo which is big thing for me. To offer the rum snaps was a really nice gesture considering we were a small group and it was free.

I notice an indian person who I knew and they go there often.

Compared to Kashmir this is a massive improvement.

JoolyBooly, can't remember if it is the same one but i just looked at the reviews and they aren't so hot, so better scratch that one.

Maybe we also try Samrat at some stage?

Lat night I decided to do an alternative curry night on my own..so went with some friends from work to New Delhi. The food was amazing. This guy had prepared something special last night with chicken..off the menu obviously...and it was awesome...my friends loved it as well. Service was pretty friendly...good drink selection. I am impressed.

I think I am done with the lousy food at Sher-e-punjab, sangeet, sitar, maharani etc...I am sticking to this one. Its a keeeper!!!

I agree Ashu, I ask for a Chicken curry and it the best I have had thats similar to what I get at home.

Six of us went to the Blue Nile last night - it was very good. Not really indian, but certainly similar (yet different enough to make a nice change).

Meal was great last night the veggie samsosas and tasted v. fresh were nice and the chicken Badam Pasanda was a nice change from all the spicy dishes I eat.

i don't mind at all going regularly to Neu Delhi, despite Mouse-Gate, but the whole idea of the alternative CN was to try out different places, oder?

agree with OG, we're suppose to try new places but loved Neu Delhi. Maybe we could make it a once a month thing.

@AM I've tried ethopian once and loved it. Did they bring the food out on sponge bread? Did you have no forks and knifes or plates?

That's right - although I think you can ask for knives and forks if you want them, and there was plenty of extra bread (not just the stuff it was served on).

I am not so adventurous..if I find a good place I stick to it till I get sick of it. I would like to try new delhi more often but I can go there apart from the curry night.

BTW I must comment there are some biased reviews for New Delhi from recently. They r not fair

I may have to try New Delhi again - when I went I thought it was quite good, but nothing special (the only reason I planned to go back was when I heard they also did Baltis, but unfortunately something else came up and I never got around to going again). But I agree, it was nowhere near as bad as those last two reviews imply.

I was just gonna post that I would like to go to New Delhi next week if others also want to. Most of you seem to like it and I had never been there. So if you all agree then it is New Delhi next week.

i may be able to be persuaded, although i really cannot confirm until wednesday. But if can come out at all Neu Delhi is def the place to go!

I had a great time there on Friday with my department. The owner outdid himself again. Food was excellent, service was more than excellent!

@AM: the dish they call a Balti is probably the best tasting (for me) dish i have had in Munich but it is still not really like an authentic Balti. It is certainly well worth trying though.

I may have to go to the US again around Christamas so I would definitely like to try it out this week.

probably me, christmas party cancelled.

new delhi gets my vote too.
