How late do the curry nights usually go?
we normally wind up some time between 23:30 and midnight. so coming at half past nine is no problem but you will have a lot of catching up to do!

Start time:
8pm - not 9pm as once mentioned before. Late-comers welcome.
End time: Whenever we finish eating, drinking & chatting. Usually between 22:30 and 00:00.
How to find us: There will be 15+ people at the table so it shouldn't be that difficult. If in doubt, just walk up and ask "Is this the Toytown table?"
How to register: Use the
registration page. Registration closes at 5pm.

I dont think anyone has said you cant come along..
Just turn up and ask for the table next to the TT table,
I am sure the owner will be more that happy to accomodate.
I will be there, maybe a tad on the late side, though..

there will be some late arrivals as well so those of you who want to go should just turn up, me thinks
photojenny
Aug 4 2004, 9:54 am
@steveNZ: I think we should just squeeze in at the TT table!!
Okay, so I'm gonna be there tonight, never been to that curry house and hope they do have a decent chicken dopiaza and nice pershwari naan

Do not worry if you cannot register. I already met the owner and told him we will be 20-25 people. I myself am bringing another 5-6 people. I told him to put together at least 3 tables together. He will always add another table if needed. Anybody could just come by and join the group. It will be the group to the left when you enter. We will most likely take over the entire left half of the restaurant.

first step: we conquer the Indian restaurants, next step: Munich!

Aug 4 2004, 10:23 am
The reservation page limits to 20 because we had trouble in the past when turning up with 25+ people and the restaurant couldn't really handle it.
david@muc: I already answered your questions. In the post directly before yours...
Malcolm Spudbury
Aug 4 2004, 10:25 am
Reservation limit has been raised to 40. Reserve away, safe in the knowledge that the restaurant can handle us...
looks like this will be the biggest ever
curry night. ..
will there be any place and food left for the late commers...

Ok, I went to Ganga this afternoon and told them that the entire left half of the restaurant is ours. They gonna put all those tables together so we should be OK with this many people.
Looks like there is gonna be a "curry alert" in munich this evening

Hi all, those of us that were there til the bitter end

came up with the suggestion of Radha (Elvirastr., near Mailingerstr U-Bahn and near Wassermann) for next week. What do you all think?
Shall we give Radha a whirl?
Cheers

Gotta say the Punjabi chicken was pretty good. Although think I got swapped with Graham and I got his "extra hot" one...

I had the Punjabi Chicken and thought it was way too gingery. The Onion Bhajis were excellent though.

I had the Chicken Tika Masala , rather nice. The portions of rice were beautifully decorated with hearts.
One amazing thing was they managed to serve everyone at the table at the same time (even though some people like me ordered at bit late), which makes a big diference !

Service was indeed very good, and food was good too, though my Lamb Curry with "kräftige Soße" was quite tasty, nonetheless harmless.

Aug 5 2004, 9:36 am
They were not able to prepare a chicken dopiaza for me

(which usually isn't a problem at Sitar!) and the chicken jalfrezi was okay but not great...
but the pershwari naan was just excellent - the best I had in Munich so far!!!

Hello Yall,
Thanks for the nice evening last night. Some of us stayed up until 12:30 am. I am glad it all worked out well inspite of the big number (at one point I counted 28 heads). I thought the food was pretty good too-- our mutton korma and lamb kabab were both quite delicious.
Well, I am gonna miss next few curry nights cuz I will out of town for a month

Look forward to seeing everybody in Sepember. Until then keep the curry flame burning and beer flowing.

SITAR or else

Hi, is Sitar so good? I've never been, so I would happily give it a go.
I just heard a few people complaining about it last night, so I innocently and naively suggested Radha ;-)
Topsy
I've met you...none of this innocent and naive bidness with me young lady.
Im open, Sitars just easy to get too and IMHO better than Ganga...though I agree with lots of comments they get top marks for service.

LOL @ jml
OK, I read the reviews for Sitar. It sounds like it's pretty good, so I'll withdraw the Radha suggestion and go with the flow down Sitar-way...

Well I got back yesterday morning, but wasn't really feeling up to a late night (9 hours sitting in the airport, then an 8 hour flight crossing 6 time zones). I'll be there for the Sitar next week though.
