So, I'll be at Ganga on Wednesday.
What time are you going? Might join you there, around 7pm?
Ganga it is.
I will be there with bells on at 7 latest. I am the bald, fat, usually drunk and always loud and opinionated, defender of all things Canadian.

Roots- I just read your saying beside your name, was at Mehek about 2 weeks ago, and had a great fish curry!
The women server that MB mentioned, is acutally the owner!

Well, I don't get it.
As mentioned, I can't quite see the point of going to a remote restaurant nobody has been to before (except in this case Carm for a lunch buffet, which hardly concludes taking TT there for this weeks CN).
QUOTE (arshoo @ Sep 12 2005, 4:26 pm)
If arshoo wants something new, he can go himself or with a few mates as I would, before dragging TT CN there with anything up to 40+ people with no idea what to expect. Besides, he said he's not even coming this week. Am I missing something here?

Sep 13 2005, 2:19 pm
I've eaten there myself. I only have three reservations.
1) the place might be too small
2) it might not be fancy enough for the TT crowd
3) they use a lot of creme in their cooking - if you want it hotter or with less creme, you'd have to specify.
It is not remote. It is close to Ubahn- Dietlindestr. We could also think about Noor Jahn as was suggested last week. Ganga is fine with me as well. But you asked about Mehek and I've been there often.

only 3 so far. Last week we had almost 30 by now. Something does smell fishy.

Its not
curry night without Jeeves but the man has other important duties so we can't stop him.
Anyway, folks, I only pick what is suggested. We can change it to Ganga and end this silly discussion.

Oh come on Carm, I would have like Mehek as well - nearly on my doorstop! But if we end up being 40 again tomorrow it might be too small. I am a bit of a regular there, I don't know how they'd fit that many people. If the group is a lot smaller (as seems to be the case currently) it wouldn't be a problem.

the service was terrible sometimes had to wait 30 minutes for a beer. The chicken vindaloo consisted mainly of chilles, very few other spices so no other flavour at all, could of made a better one at home.So i had 3 beers , naan, chicken vindaloo the bill came to 21.10 euro and i paid 21.10 euro NO TIP FROM ME!!! and i shall not be coming back

must agree on the service...although my food was actually pretty good and is still working its way through my system...burny burny burny!
don't recall any drunk canadians though, canadians yes drunk no (although that could just be a trick my memory is playing on me this morning). i'll also go along with the others...company was good (if not great)...where did you all end up?

Sep 15 2005, 7:45 am
I have had better experiences at Ganga… food (mutton jalfrezi) wasn't absolute apex, but not explicitly bad either, let's say 5/10. Certainly not in the same league as Swagat, Shiva,
Sitar,
Ganesha or Deeba - actually closer to Sher e Punjab. Oh, and the keema nan I had as a starter wasn't up to it either.
Service was ok, except why did they bring me a small beer at the end? Did they run out of glasses or something? Would have preferred a standard one.
Great company, so altogether a good night out

Sep 15 2005, 8:20 am
In all fairness, we were two tables: the one table (the people who came first) got good food and good service, the second table didn't it seems. My food was very tasty(was there relatively early and belonged to the first, lucky table), but I also don't think it's one of the best restaurants in Munich. Maybe we do Mehek next time afterall (if we could all fit in, that is). I think they were overstrained by that many customers all at once. The waitress is a very nice, beautiful lady who did her best to serve that many people at once. Two waiters for a place that size are simply too few(I only counted two) and she had to handle the till, answer the phone etc. as well as serving food.
It was great seeing everyone as usual!
Curry was OK but the service was very slow, although that was not the fault of the waiters since there was only 2 in the whole restaurant. So we should blame the manager for not having enough waiters for the number of tables they have.
I don't think we'll be going back there in a hurry...

Nice spicy chicken naan. The main dish was OK but nothing special and the service on our table was fine.
Great company as usual for a
curry night.
Something to consider, as a restaurant people are familiar with can still be disappointing, maybe trying somewhere new isn't that scary.
