Please sign-up here
Jeeves
So many people are bringing pluses this week. I feel so plusless blink.gif
Rus
QUOTE (georgiagirl @ Aug 31 2005, 3:09 pm)
I don't suppose there is room for two more?  Sorry to be so last-minute.

Only room for red headed cheeky girls if escorted by guys from West Sussex

I'll be your plus Jeeves
georgiagirl
@ Rus
Sorry to disappoint - friend from West Sussex has returned to UK. Isn't it enough just to see me? wink.gif
Rus
Ã? suppose if I escortred you, you would then meet the criteria

Who is the +
Jeeves
Rus you're just saying that cause you don't want me to feel wanted.
georgiagirl
@Rus
Blimey, you are nosy! I'm bringing my grandmother.
Rus
I might noit like who you are bringing so may not come!

That is the problem with the + system

The + remains anonymous.
Someone could be turning up with a few Pikeys- Then we'd all be in trouble
roots
My +1 will be +1 hour late as usual. Until then I will consider jeeves as my +1 wink.gif
Rus
Pikey or Austrian?
Jeeves
Roots Thanks for the thought but I'd rather remain non-plussed
Exile
Maybe we can have a set of icons rather than just numbers for the additions?
madgibson
@ Jeeves
Maybe you'll just be altogether surplus!! biggrin.gif
Jeeves
smile.gif That's me. Sir Plus.
Blimeygirl
Was a good curry even though I had to wait the longest ph34r.gif Sorry we had to duck out of the GBV night out but it is past our bedtime...zzzzz smile.gif
roots
Improvement over the Biryani night I guess. Decent food and good service. Lots of newbies last night and it was good to meet em all. Overall, it was a very good evening.

I still don't think I paid but the guy insists I did unsure.gif oh well.
ski
Yes, definitely better than the Biryani night. Curry was quite nice but not really hot, but since I didn't ask for it hot I can't complain.
The owner was nice and friendly as usual and I'd go back there again.
Jeeves
Ditto Ski's post in all respects.

Didn't get to meet all newbies but there you go.

That chicken naan you told them how to prepare was flippin good Mr Roots.
sea-king
It could have been stronger, I shall know next time, the company was fab and the beer was pretty devastating, I left when the gays started sucking serious face (ooohhh I hate that...) blink.gif
Showem
I want to go to curry this week. I'm building my tastebuds in anticipation in fact. Where shall we go?
Exile
Forecast is for the weather to stay good mid-week. Somewhere with a beer garden perhaps?
roots
Swagat has a beergarden I think and last time we went there we had great food. I was gonna propose Swagat for this week but am open for other ideas of course.
Showem
Noor Jahan has a big beergarden, from what I remember. Haven't been there in years though, and don't know the food.
Topsy
the curry crew went there quite recently, it was nice but not spectacular
roots
Never been to Noor Jehan but with a name like that (light of the world), we could hope for a bright and sunny beer garden with good curry .
Katrina
Noor Jehan was a bit mild, nice paneer dishes though. Last time the curry night went here there was a huge storm (Izabella recommended it, didn't she?) and we all hid under the picnic brollies. The garden is also a wee bit shady if I remember correctly but am sure someone else will have a better idea than me (I was late).
Exile
I think the Taj Mahal was the best outside venue for me. But I am happy with The Noor Jahan or the Swagat.
Carm
I love Swagat, and I cannot go this week! sad.gif
DDBug
Does anyone know the name of the place on Franz-Josef strasse? I rode by it last night and it looked really interesting, I figured I would remember the name, but, of course, I didn't rolleyes.gif
Owain Glyndwr
the Sitar can accomodate a large group outside. ok its no beergarden, being roadside, but it is Lehel and dead quiet. Always nice in the evenings there.
Carm
So can Saffron on Steinstr by the Hofbraukeller
roots
Looks like we are still undecided.

Not much enthusiasm for Noor Jehan so if I have to pick I would go with Swagat.

Sangam?
Franz-Josef-Str. 28

I have eaten there twice...once with a curry night (which we sat outside and it was pretty nice and entertaining) and once inside with a smaller group. I liked the food and service.
alala
I like Swagat. It's been awhile since we were there, hasn't it?
Jeeves
Swagat's good but in my mind I have this picture of a small area outside/upstairs that would no way be big enough. Perhaps someone would like to correct me on that? Otherwise I'm happy with going there or Taj Mahal or anywhere geographically in between. Really short on time this week so I'll leave the decision process up to you smile.gif
roots
Well, last night Oli and I ended up going to Sitar for a late night curry after mid-night biggrin.gif Right now can't even stand the thought of curry.

I think we should finalize Swagat for this week.
ski
Swagat is OK with me...
borracuda
hey you guys!

it's been a while since I showed my face on a curry night.. wink.gif
alala
Ooooh, that Swagat! The downstairs place? Sorry, I was thinking of, um, that other place, near Rotkreuzplatz (aha, alala's true motive emerges...). Oh well, I'll be at curry night anyway. Looking forward to it.
Friday
Oh yes!!!

this is the place we went to for the Xmas Eve Night and me and Inflatablewoman cleared the place by talking loudly about the First World War Armistice and the Versailles Treaty.

The thing about this place is that the keema nans are easily the best that I have ever eaten in Munich. In fact it might well be a three keema nan evening on Wednesday.
Showem
Yeah, but if remember the Christmas Eve do Andrew, I also remember them just dropping the bill on the table, walking away and expecting us to figure it out. I don't have a problem with the food there, but the service isn't great, in my opinion. Still, I will go wherever the food and the company are.
MajorBummer
A shame about Noor Jahan. It's also easy to reach. Would have liked that. Went there two weeks ago and enjoyed the food quite a bit. Don't know Swagat but am always keen on trying out something new.
Jeeves
...and I've never been to Noor Jahan, so that we be fine for me too blink.gif

Showem We went to Swagat some time in the early summer and had a Roots with us. The service was just fine, if not better. Odd that wink.gif
DDBug
I went there (Noor Jahan) once a really long time ago and really enjoyed it - if that's any help. That would be fine with me. happy.gif
roots
To avoid confusion, I say we just stick to Swagat this week and plan Noor Jehan next week. Too many already signed up. We had good experience at Swagat last time so at least we know it is a good place.
Jeeves
TBH most people incl me had signed up before the venue was even decided smile.gif

But I'm happy to go back to anywhere so that I don't force myself to eat a chicken jalfrezi.
DDBug
Just wimpy me not wanting to cross the Isar and stay closer to Schwabing (since the tuesday drinks night is on the east side as well)
But - curry is curry. :-)
TexasTornado
I love Swagat! Planning on going to an art opening at Die Bank afterwards. How early will you kids be there, 18:30ish?
roots
@TT
Yup, some of us gather early at around 6:30 PM
