Dear God,

if you are an all powerful, omnipotent being, why did it take you SIX DAYS to create the world? How many tea and cigarette breaks did you take for your own sake?

Was she at the pub quiz on Monday?
Carm
yes, she was on the winning team!
Rus
I would like to point out some interesting points from the bible

Genesis 1
The Beginning
1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
2 Now the earth was [a] formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.

3 And God said, "Let there be light," and there was light.

Which means god did all that creating IN THE DARK!

How good is that?
I have problems hitting the toilet in the dark

Ah, then she was with me. And you were her friend...yet more faces to the names.

@ Andrew -
FYI, a "non-smoking" chili appeared at the end of my comment on the sign up page, without me inserting it. Don't know how/why...
Carm
Jeeves, I will be there early, so we can get an early start on the oogling! rolleyes.gif
Rus
I will be an early oogler too

I did not know that the chilli was supposed to signify that, it was not actually you I was aiming at
Carm
the chilli gets added, when you put curry into your comment.
tom_a
Not sure if God is angry with me or something, but I keep getting bumped off the sign-up page. Been signing up twice, but my handle always disappears after a minute or so. So I guess I'll just show-up unregistered then...
Friday
I tried putting four currys in to see if I could get four chillis, but did not happen.

exciting life i lead.
Exile
See that what happens when you bring god in, all hell breaks loose.
Bearlymuc
also up for the early oggling
roots
Reservation made under Toytown for 25-27 people. Wanted to take care of this before some other large group makes a reservation. We dont wanna be left without room do we?

I will be there for early drinks as well so early birds could start flocking from 6:30 PM
Jeeves
Andrew I hereby acknowledge that you always go outside to smoke (and even remember having done so once myself ph34r.gif ).
I'm guessing that the reference to non-smoking refers to other patrons of the establishment in question. So our tactics of taking up the whole restaurant from the word go would seem to preclude that.

thank you Carm for acknowledging that we are considerate about it, and we do go outside to smoke precisely not to inflict our smoke on other people at the table. I find it annoying to see non smoker section please, when we bloody well don't smoke inside.

With all due respect, Andrew, there is no reason to assume that the "non-smoking" comment was referring to you. I have personally been to at least a couple curry nights where there were people smoking at the table while others were still eating.
roots
We have a newbie called navya who signed up. Interesting thing is Navya means new. It is most likely her real name. It all feels so new today wink.gif
Jeeves
Her profile says she was born in the year 197.00. That makes her anything but new. A lot newer than God, I'll admit, but still pretty ancient by butlers' standards.
Rus
About as old as Roots then!

Okay point taken. Perhaps whoever it is who does smoke when people are still eating will take note and go outside with the rest of us.
Navya
@ Jeeves

Was trying something that didn't quite work! huh.gif
roots
I am guessing you were born in 1970 (not 1970 BC like me) so just enter 1970 wink.gif

That's right. I was not aiming at you Andrew, but at anyone who smokes at the table. You'd be surprised how many people do that, and don't even think about asking the people sitting next to them if it might bother them. We've had curry nights where 80% of the signups wrote non-smoking please on their registration.
roots
Gen, I know you haven't been to CN in a while but we have gotten past the smoking issue long time ago. Nobody smokes at the table anymore. I haven't seen anybody do that in a while. People just step outside for a quick smoke thats all. Sometimes I myself have a craving for a nice cigar after a good dinner but I don't do that cuz it turns some people off. Smoking is not an issue at CNs so lets not make it one.
Rus
I think Gen has been sent in by EB in an insurgent type role to try and undermine the good spirit within the CN Crowd.
Once we are de stabilised he will be free to remove CN from the Calendar without fear of backlash
Grinner
@ Roots..

Gen was clearly making it clear as to why the comment was made...

Anyhow, you probably wouldnt notice as you are always talking about Indian poetry to any chick that will listen... laugh.gif

*shit, we've been rumbled*
Sin
Well, I don't usually come in here because I can't do midweek eats. But I wanted to send my congratulations. This thread has passed the 100,000 views mark - Way to go! biggrin.gif
DDBug
Ah - found a sure fire way to ensure I have a seat - put me next to the smokers please! I am an ex-smoker myself (nasty addiction, really) but still find them to be alot of fun most of the time (no offense, Carm wink.gif )
Gen
Thank you Grinner, my non-smoking compatriot. Although I have to say, I'd listen to Roots telling me about Indian poetry anytime! wink.gif
xargon
Kazombs! cannot make it this week. Have fun y'all.
Carm
@DDBug- so are you saying I am no fun? sad.gif I made you laugh in Amsterdam! Okay, I was on hallucinagenic Absinthe but hey! The Bottle was infront of me!
Rus
@Xargon
Its alright I wont make you pay of your gambling debts if you dont want to
Rus
@Carm
Well Absinthe does make the heart grow fonder
DDBug
I laughed because I was, uhm, recovering from bible study sessions with UpQuark.

OK, you can be fun, too. Not all non-smokers are boring! Look at me!! (Ok, don't ph34r.gif )
Carm
@ Rus- only when I am in my bunny outfit!
Rus
@Carm
And will you be wearing it tonight???
Carm
no, my tail had to be taken in to be drycleaned! biggrin.gif
Rus
I hate it when the tail gets dirty
gaijin
I really enjoyed the curry night last week, great company. Unfortunately, I don't
have time tonight and I will not be in Munich next week, but I'll definitely be back !
Have fun tonight ! smile.gif

@ Exile, I would perhaps have a chat with Lakshmi if it's your Divine Inheritance you're concerned about.

good night, great curry. ok it took a while, there were no freebies. but the company was cool and the food sooo worth the wait.

@ Mrs. Sin... sorry, the beer was talking and it was the only free space available rolleyes.gif
Carm
just got in, too drunk to post properly!
Bearlymuc
thanks to all for a great night out.
food was good (although rather late) and i drank
rather too much before the food came
but all in all a real good one!! smile.gif
DDBug
Damn - I wish I could have stayed out, but it was fun to meet God and get out! Can't wait for next week when I have more free time !!!
UpQuark
So who was God?

And Carm, what in heaven's name were you doing out so late?
MajorBummer
A very nice evening once again! Great meeting God, Deco, Rus, Jeeves, DDBug and Helen! smile.gif And chatting to those I have already met.. cheers Roots!
DDBug
@ UpQuark - it was a fake, everyone *knows* God is a woman. wink.gif

Yesterday's surprising Revelation that God is an incarnation of Sin (or Sin an incarnation of God) gives rise to interesting theological implications: Considering this Holy Duality, how wrong can it be to be sinful? rolleyes.gif
Sin
I just wish I could say, "I can explain.", but...

Great night. I'll have to do it again on my next week off. Maybe March 2006.
