A fun night. Good mix of regulars, newbies and returnees.
The service was a bit slow epecially for getting drinks, but I think that was because they just didn't have enough staff to deal with two large groups. The Chile Chicken was nice, spicy but not too hot. Really liked the Peshawri naan which was very spicy.
Oh and thanks to whoever it was that paid for my beer at Mollys.

yum yum - munching on starters for breakfast, glad I brought such a boring "date" who didn't like the food.

It was great to get out and see everyone. Next time I will be dateless.

When I got home and looked at the clock I realised it was effin late and so I must have had fun

Again.
Good to see / meet / drink with you all.
Oh, and eat too.
Service was very slow, it has to be said. Apart from the boss just the one guy waiting, can't blame him, especially as he remained cool and calm and retained his smile until the bitter end.
Food was better than last week but still not outstanding. But again this happens when 25 people all get served at once 90 minutes after ordering

Edit: Arshoo, Roots, just to rub it in and just in case you don't know yet, India lost by 4 wickets

That was good night. Yes, bit slower but considering how many people were there in the restaurant it was expected. They tried and I always give points for trying. My tandoori chiken was decent. Could be better but still not bad. The guy packed me a free chicken naan to take home in the end which was nice. As always great company.
Yeah Jeeves, we know that India lost the game. What a bunch of losers

yeah service was slow but then always with a smile even though we were testing them a bit. great company as usual and my dear WINEGIRL u would be glad to know that i had a bottle of white last nite

well, I just opened my free chicken naan take away and to my pleasant surprize there are 2 fat chicken naans inside instead of one. These are the moments I tell myself there is God
Yeti
Aug 4 2005, 12:00 pm
So what came first ? The chicken or the naan ?
roots
Aug 4 2005, 12:31 pm
Its chicken first and then naan. Thats why its called chicken naan and not naan chicken
Yeti
Aug 4 2005, 12:35 pm
But you took home one free chicken naan and then the other one materialised. So the second naan didn't come first.
So is the second naan also free ? Do naans do this all the time ? Or only free ones ?
Strange to say I'm hungry again.
roots
Aug 4 2005, 12:42 pm
ok, the chicken was "inside" naan all night and procreated more chicken first (chicken begets chicken kinda theory). Mother naan had to make more naan to protect the chicken. So there.
I need a beer

i walked past what looked like a fairly new place in
Haidhausen the other day. Looked fantastic. for the life of me, I can't remember either the name of the place or the street it was on. I just remember thinking "I must remember this place for TT curry night". doh!
I think it was somewhere around Weissenburgerplatz but not sure.
edit: Maybe on the Metzstrasse? does this ring a bell to anyone? Looked really nice, newly decorated and nice large windows with a few tables outside.
roots
Aug 8 2005, 12:35 pm
well, go walk past that place again and this time write it down
Owain Glyndwr
Aug 8 2005, 12:39 pm
I now think it was Satluj on the Wörthstrasse. Somewhere near the junction between Wörthstrasse and Metzstrasse.
The place looked really nice (although that says nothing for the food), but I would love to try it.
edit: just read the comments on the Wiki. Maybe not.

Anyone ever been to
Sahib? Was there about a year ago for their all-you-can-eat lunch buffet, which wasn't absolute apex, not to say a bit lame. Nice ambiente, but not sure if the place is fit for a TT
curry night, just curious if anyone else has been there.
Other than that, roots suggested
New Delhi for last week and we ended up going to
Ganesha. Might be in order to go to New Delhi this week then.

I've been to the Sahib three times and have enjoyed very good food there everytime (very good vindaloos if asked for very hot).
I can't make this week but enjoy your curries!

I didn't set the time. I think OG did. I am gonna be there for early drinks anyway so people could come according to their convenience.

guys, i was in New Dehli last night. The food was not as good as usual. The cook has gone, probably to Tandoori. Indeed, since Tandoori opened, I can't say I have had a particularly good meal there, just average.
Service was good, fast and friendly as usual!
Might be an idea to change location or just go with low expectations.
