I thought the garlic nan was quite nice..
But I agree with everyone else, the food was super mild.. I asked her if mine would be medium, she said it would be and I seriously couldn't taste any spice at all..
Still a really nice meal though..

to be fair, they only charged us for 2 poppadums - we got one each on the house
it was a bit tight of them not to chuck in the two extra ones on the house, but the boss is on vacation. i'm pretty sure if he'd been there he would have been more flexible
my food was fantastic, it was nice and spicy - brought a flush to billybob's cheeks when he had a spoonful

I ought to add that I'd go back again, no question. Just not for a number 057.

I had a number 66, can't remember what it was other than it was lamb. Mild, but really good. I'd go back there.

PS Wassermann's has a very agressive waitress. She looked like she could chew nettles without flinching.

Jul 21 2005, 10:17 am
Ah but to be fair she gave me my cocktail at the happy hour price even though I ordered it 90 seconds before the happy hour started

Didn't come last night because I'm dissapointed most of the time with the Rahda.
They are completely incapable of making it hot, which would not be so bad if they could put some flavour into it. But they are also completely incapable of making vegie dishes flavoursome.
Was in Newcastle at the weekend. What a curry did I have there!!!

I liked the Punjabi (sp?) Chicken, I was given extra hot even though I don't remember ordering it that way. It was not really that hot although still nice.
What a contrast between the Waitress at the Radha and the one at Wassermann

I'll would go back to the Radha again, but maybe try another bar in that area .

Good to see the Return of Roots.
All we need to do now is decide where to go.
So suggestions please for a restaurant in Isarvorstadt in keeping with meeting up with the
Glockenbach night out

I notice that you don't miss the curries

Can't say I blame you.
I don't know that part of the city at all well. So come on peeps, otherwise we'll just pull one out of the hat.

Samrat?I'll be at the other dinner though, it wasn't great for 40 folks in January but it was much nicer when myself and Mr pootle went. His was suitably hot, mine a wee bit mild (if that is helpful at all).
Jeeves
Jul 25 2005, 2:25 pm
Ah yes how could I forget that one. The first of the megacurries.
The reason it wasn't that good is because it was booked for about 15 and then 40 turned up. A good night was nevertheless had by one and all.
Tip: do NOT go to Lamms afterwards. Not even six months afterwards.
Katrina
Jul 25 2005, 2:29 pm
Did you see that a Wies'n-Wirt (think it was from the Armschützern) got beaten up by the bouncers in Lamm's recently?
Strangely enough it was about the bill.
Yes - a bouncer arguing with an Oktoberfest landlord about the price and amount of beer...
Jeeves
Jul 25 2005, 2:32 pm
Yep it was on the front page of the local rags and it didn't surprise me at all.
Any road up, the Glockenbachviertelers have recommended a trip to Die Bank afterwards. Which is where you get attacked by Pangalactic Gargleblasters...
Katrina
Jul 25 2005, 2:35 pm
Ah they've stopped selling them now.
So it is all bring your own carnage.
Samrat sounds good to me, although didn't they take ages to bring the food last time? Maybe we should order in waves again so that no-one has to wait too long?
Jeeves
Jul 25 2005, 2:43 pm
There are only 3 of us so far so those waves ain't gonna be that big

Suggest we set it to Samrat and then if 37 more people sign up we move it (just to confuse the late sign-ups...)

Is this definately at the Samrat?
And how come I managed to get a little chilli pic when leaving a comment on the sign-up sheet!?

Yep I've just set the restaurant on the sign-up page.
You automatically get a little chilli pic if you put the word "curry" in your comment.

Jeeves
Jul 27 2005, 11:44 am
Yep, gotta buy a few beers so I might as well sink a few myself...
6:30 - 7-ish? I suggest at the restaurant itself as I'm slightly concerned about trying out random bars in the area

Can somebody also do the reserving? I'm a bit meeting-tied today.

I´m in - last minute, never been at Samrat so far.
I'm in and I'll be there early. There's not much point in going home first. If anyone else gets there very early (18:00ish) , I <<think>> there's an ice cream place next door where you may find me sipping something very cold.

It was really nice to be back. Enjoyed the evening with regulars and it was great meeting newbies.
The food was good. Nothing exceptional but nothing bad either. Service was very good though.
Also really enjoyed going to Die Bank afterwards to meet more TTers. Very nice evening overall and thanks y'all.

Jul 28 2005, 8:23 am
Great evening and nice to sit outside again. Good service, although they hardly had anyone else to serve. Food not quite so hot: sauce needed spicing up considerably and was rather runny. Also there was less meat than generally provided in other places. Overall verdict: average.

Another great Curry Night!
I can strongly recommend the standard Chicken Tikka (not the chef's specialty Tikka Masala), for the following reasons:
- with the Tikka, you get much MUCH more chicken than with the Masala
- you get the Masala sauce as a little side-dish with the Tikka anyway
- the Tikka is about 2€ cheaper than the Masala
and finally...
- I have never seen such a great entrance for a dish! I thought the thing was on fire!?
Overall, a very good finish to my summer of Curry Nights!!
My curry was spicier that last week although not by a great amount, but I thought it tasted reasonably good.
The popadoms were a bit strange but they had nice nann bread.
Great seeing everyone as usual!
