let me add me name to the list of no shows this week going to Rome
but i can suggest Taj Mahal or ganga but since there has been no curry at the
Sitar for long maybe there too what say OG?
Yeah, Taj Mahal was nice to sit outside when we were there last - so any more votes for that one then (from people who are actually coming

)?
They also seemed to have lots of room inside in case it rains on Wednesday (I can't remember how bit the umbrellas were).

I'm not 100% for Wednesday... but I would prefer somewhere we either haven't been to yet/for awhile.
Well
Sitar always has nice curries but I don't think it has an outside section (does it?). Even if it doesn't I still wouldn't mind going there since it's been a while.

there is street-side seating at the Sitar and it is always very pleasant because there is very little traffic there. I always enjoy sitting outside at the
Sitar and the food is also very good.

OG, think they could fit everyone in a row? Been awhile since I was last there.

Sitting outside at
Sitar could be a problem if more than about 25 people turn up, but with the number of peeps who can't make it this week (including me again) you should be okay. As long as no one else wants to sit outside, that is...

I would love to sit outside, but taking the weather forecast into account plus what there is to see out from the window today, won't that be just a dream?..
I guess the weather is gonna be all amazonic this week..

still glad that we could sit on a beergarten on sunday anyway..
As far as the place is concerned
Sitar fits me. As this is gonna be my 1st CurryNight, whatever you say is fine..
OK it seems like
Sitar is agreed, so I selected that restaurant on the sign-up page with a 7:30pm start time.
Please remember to sign up (see link in first post) if you are coming so that we can reserve for the correct number of people. Cheers.

Ok, can someone please post directions of how to get to the restaurant from the U-bahn station? Street names etc would be great!
Thanks!

Seems I might not make it at 19:30 tonight.. I will pick my girlfriend up from the station at 19:00 and will come after that...
I plan to be there by 20:00 the latest.. Please do reserve 2 seats for us
See you all there..
See here for directions...
http://sitar.indisches.com/directions.htmlIt's right next to the U-Bahn station but I always seem to come out of the wrong U-Bahn exit and wander around trying to find the place

Cheers! Took me half an hour to find the TB last night... I even stopped off at an Internet cafe to look at a map... Seems I just came out of the U-bahn on the wrong side of the right street, and so missed the street name I was looking for...
I guess the
Sitar is on Wagmüllerstr.? That will hopefully be signed from the U-bahn...

Don't worry about not being there at 1930. We didn't get our food until 2100 last week. (Not that i've been to the
Sitar to be able to compare...

I know only of one original North Indian restaurant in Munich - the incredible Maharaja:
http://www.maharajamunich.com (the food is better than the website).
For example:
- The colour of the mintsauce of Taj Mahal is greener than a Waldmeister Drink. Whilst in Maharaja they cooks make the mintsauce themselves.
- Did you ever think about why you get your food so quick at Taj Mahal? In Maharaja the chicken is well marinated for at least 1 day and all dishes are prepared fresh at the time of your order.
If you have not tried Maharaja yet none of you have had a proper Indian feast!

we did maharaja back in february
it was kebab meister's birthday, and he was a little bit disappointed cos his vindaloo had no potato in it
but i quite like maharaja, the staff are very friendly

I had the same experience, as such I always request potato to be included in vindaloo as of course it should be. Side dishes like Bombay Aloo can also be requested although its not on the menu, and if anything isn't done right Jagtar welcomes critisism and will personally take the opportunity to reprehend the cooks and redo your dish to perfection.

As early as you like?!

6:30? 6:45? 7:00? I'll try and get there around 6:30...ish
It's starting to rain down in
Taufkirchen, what's it like in the city? Are we sitting in or outdoors tonight? Will outdoors sit all of us in a row?

Ok, will try and get there for around 6:45... Which, judging by my recent performance, means i'll be there about 7:15!

BTW Ski, you doing the reservations?
Yeah I'll book it tonight
Table is booked under the name of Toytown, and I said we would like to sit outside if it is not raining.
See you all there!

I think people had other thinks on their mind yesterday.
It was a good night, with a quite a few newbies. Liked the
Sitar but next time will ask for them to make my Jalfrazi a bit hotter.
Ski took us on another of his guided walks of Munich ("its sort of over that way"). A few of us ended up in
Ned Kellys where even hmspresident looked old compared to most of the other customers

Ah yes okay. I've been rather out of the loop for the couple of weeks and didn't find out about yesterday morning's events for ages, so I didn't associate.
It was quite a nice curry but a little salty for my liking.
Hopefully this week it will be possible to sit outside somewhere again if the weather is nice.
Yes, a good mystery walk is always good especially when the person doing the leading doesn't know exactly where he's going

I actually had something different this week, the first non-Vindaloo of the year! I had Tandoori Chicken Masala! No way as good as 'Tandoori' but it was still very tasty. I don' know what they added to the curry but I had a rather nasty after taste later at night. I did miss the hotness though... I guess I should have had another Vindaloo!

Ok, 2 weeks after KebabMeister said he'd back me up, I suggest the
Sangam for Wednesday. I went there on Friday lunch time, had my ususal Paneer Tikka Masalla, and it went from its usual 4 star to 4.5 star, when I told the owner at ordering that I wanted to bring Toytown there.
He also said they would do proper onion bhajis. The back area is nicest. Theycan fit up to 80 people outback. We will have problems blowing that limit. There's also a window running the entire length of the back room which gives a nicy airy, semi tropical feel. Its the same management as Sangeet, but I've never been to Sangeet.
The address is Franz-Josef-Str. 28. Closest U Bahn is
Giselastr on the U3/U6.

That's the place we went to two weeks ago. No idea who set it to that.
However, if people want to go to Sangam then they can use the
Alternative Curry Night booking page if they don't fancy Noor Jahan again.

I changed the booking page to Sangam. Don't use the alternative curry page.
Having the power to change the restaurant, and the time is great ... if I was the dictator and only I could do it. But it seems anybody with 5 currys under their belt can set that.
Maybe Grinner and I can have a curry war, with the choice oscillating between Sangam & Noor Jahan until everyone has a fierce hankering for Italian.

I fancy another curry this evening, but the usual question applies... How do I get there?
And don't worry, I won't suggest we go wandering through Munich to a bar afterwards, even if that particular did make me look older last week...

Info for JeevesGot my bike out of the repair shop yesterday, lovely service, new gears (so billybob, I now can choose other gears apart from 3rd!), cleaned the chain, tightened the new seat on and it was lovely cycling in this morning.
Except for other road users as I had a skirt on - I'd advise the use of sunglasses in the
Neuhausen area as the risk of being blinded by the glare of pasty legs is quite high.
