Before the curry burns your brains in the morning, let us look at the Barbara and Jenna in question:

I am going left, who is going right?
I thought the place was great.
I agree they could have done with another waiter ir something for a large group, but they did a good job for the number of people they had, and always very friendly. Food was really good also (even had proper onion bhajis

).

Not only our group was big but the restaurant was also almost full. There was another big group inside. Clearly the large number had an effect on the food but still it was very tasty. If they had four waiters from the beginning I am sure it would have been much better but two of them arrived later.
Other than a couple of things arriving a bit late, it was still a very decent night.

I suppose I should have gone with my original plan.
The food was excellent, but the service... friendly
It has been suggested before, that when there is a large group, we let them do a Buffet style evening, for fixed price..
Also, will some one tell the Bloke what "NO" means..

I thought you were more interested in getting the golden

Maybe you should bring some rope next time.

Absolutely not. Those who stayed until the end even got couple of whiskies

Service was great. I think a few late things is to be expected with such a large group. A glass of sparkling wine at the beginning added a great touch.
Food was only better than we've had for the past few but not as good as Neu Dehli has been in the past or as good as Shiva and Surahi. I only had a starter but I did taste UpQ's jalfrazy and KB's vindaloo. The chicken was cooked just right, very tender. But the heat and flavor just weren't quite there. I gave it a 7/10.
Def look forward to trying it again!

Well someone has already reserved and we still don't know where or when. So someone bring me up to speed. Where didn't you go in the last month and where won't we get thrown out of? Must I bring a pen and some little bits of paper with me?

Hi Jeeves, this week it's supposed to be at:
ShivaAugustenstr. 96, Maxvorstadt
Next week it's supposed to be at the
Surahi, you know, the mega hot place!!

Still not sure whether I can make this week. I have a friend visiting a day earlier than expected, on Thursday, so it depends how much stuff I can get sorted out before then!
Last month we went to the Goa, Ganga & Tandoori. If I'm unable to make this week then I'll email the slips to someone (Winegirl & ?).
Winegirl
May 2 2005, 1:24 pm
E-mailing them to me is fine. I'll be there, especially because I was the one really pushing to go back. Last time we said it was as good as Neu Dehli (but of course the service was not as good, it's hard to beat Ram).

I personally really enjoy the curry nights and won't be missing the next several. Especially next week when I should turn back into Whinegirl

What a good evening with a great group last night
The service was as good as anyone could wish for, and at the end the waiter couldn't stop grinning because Winegirl told him about 17 times how good the food was. And I think everybody agreed. I certainly did, my chicken jalfrezi was just perfect. Even the wine was rather tasty.
So for me the place gets about nine out of ten (again!) and I'd suggest going back there soon.

That is an excellent restaurant, we should definitely make it a regular place. And I am so looking forward to next week at the HOT PLACE
Winegirl, Charmed and I went to Bondis and were joined by Crawlie and another girl whose name I ahve forgotten (Sorry) and it was great fun even if very hot there. I sang New New York by old Blue Eyes. Crawlie did not get to sing which I think pissed him off a bit
It was great to have a shower this morning and wash the sweat from last night off. And my commiseration to Charmed who had to get up early today.

UpQuark, I passed the slips to Winegirl but since there wasn't that many people in attendance I don't think they were necessary for last night!
So, next week is the Surahi (will Jeeves smoke again???

), and the week after IPJ wanted to go to Tandoori since she missed out. I haven't been to Shiva yet so perhaps we can fit that in very soon?

Ah, but the Curry Order ChecKslipS are important for the Curry Users Numerical Tabulation System! The estimate of money spent on curry is horribly inaccurate. Further, wouldn't it be splendid to have a resource that could let you know who has the cheapest onion bhaji in town, how often ski has attended curry, which restaurant attracts the largest crowd, etc.?
