@ MaxMurderer- if you mean the indian restaruant on Baum strasse- its no longer there. I believe it was called Tandori- tried to go there last summer with Upquark, and its not there. But I do remember being there and friends ordering those things there. (forgot name- acutally would make bad spelling attempt at moment)

yeah you have to do the new delhi thing after at least 2 weeks. i cant come to the next 2 curry nights, parents here for 10 days and they do not want to see curry!! they want only continental for their holidays

Darn, as I really wanted to try Saffron as its not to far from me. There is also an Indian on Englschalkingerstr- Santoor, close to the S8 Englschalkinger stop. They have a large basement, so you would have your own server, and they did handle a group of 25 for the Hash once. And we were happy with the service and the food.

Sounds like it, i think i'm gonna avoid the queues at Safran tonight and head off with the research team to the New New Deli, gotta get there before the rush begins next week

I'm sure you guys will have enough fun with each other though, but i expect my curry/biriyani will arrive about 60 mins before yours does

Proper balti... in the pan, no rice, Birmingham, yum! Makes me miss home (I lived the otherside of Leicester but our local Indian cooks commuted from Brum everyday!)

What a great evening and excellent company! The last half hour or so was simply hilarious; the wine had obviously caught up with the girl!

Food was fairly good and after they bought out the extra chilli based curry it was damn hot!!!

Well I am sorry to have missed the main TT event last night.

But I went to the New New Delhi (the U1 Frauenhoferstrasse place) with the TT splinter group and met Grinner for the first time since he put the dish on our roof (and a first rate job he did at that I might add once again! ) and Kings Town.

The food was fantastic and I hope to go there again when time permits, as you know being a Dad is somewhat time consuming.

I can't praise the New New Delhi enough. In addition to the food you get a feee Proseko when you arrive, then the curry, then after that they give you this Mango Schnapps which should not be consumed near naked flames (!) but sinks well. Lastly we got some other spirit which also went down a treat.

I hope to see more of you next time.

Now onto today's thread...scooters

The curry was OK. That sauce was just a little too hot though...

By the way. I am off back to the restaurant at lunchtime to pay for some drinks and food (???) that were not paid for last night. I will keep you updated...

My personal opinion.

Positives
--My kadai chicken was tasty.

Negatives
--Neither of the waiters were Indian and therefore I couldn't make any connection like I normally do. I couldn't even tell what the tall guy was.
--smallest portion I have had so far in munich
--no papads (at least not on our side)
--no schnapps
--Looks like the brithday group on the other end got some complimentary desserts. On our side where 5 of us were sitting, we got nothing. When I asked he said no. Perhaps he misunderstood my question but I didn't bother to repeat.
--the place is too small for large groups and the tables kinda cramped. I had to get up a thousand times to let the guys go in and out.

I personally wouldn't be so thrilled about going back. Perhaps I am bit too spoiled because other places give me complimentary papads, schanapps, desserts, chai and a bottle of whiskey

Ok, I was the last one to pay and he said nothing about any unpaid stuff. I am surprized. I have seen all the five sitting on our end pay.
