@Urban Perfect! Well... Apart from them not answering... I even dialled the number correctly too...
I mean what is that all about? 3.50 in the afternoon and they are not working? Work-shy bastards! The lot of them!
When I were a lad we were forced to work in the coal mines for 22 hours a day and if we were lucky we got beaten to within an inch of our lives by the foreman. There are just no work ethics anymore...
Right. Rant over...
What was I supposed to do again?

so have to stay home and make a few calls tonight... will have to de-register

Crawlie, stop whining and just go at 5pm for a beer or 8 before dinner

Nice crowd. Have fun guyz. While you are enjoying your curry, I will enjoy being bent-over, frisked, fondled and touched by airport security cuz I have "You look like a terrorist" written all over my skin in brown

Catch up with you all soon and be nice to Anna the slovakian waitress.

careful roots, when i flew to london i had to virtually strip :
take coat off (ok that's normal)
take shoes off (oh shit, do i have holey socks on?)
"Do you have a belt on?"
"Er, yes"
"Please undo it"
"I'm sorry?"
"Please undo your belt"
"Umm ok..." *undoes belt* "Anything else..?!"
at which the guy (who was pretty old) chuckled and said that was all

@arshoo
Yes, a couple of us did say hi to Anna!

Very pleasant girl!
Anyway... I was a bit disappointed with this place. My major gripe was the service was absolutely terrible. I had to wait 20 minutes for my second drink and 30 minutes for the third drink (plus they didn't take everyones order at the same time but about 15 minutes apart). Everyone was split over 3 tables and by the time our table had finished the main course, one of the other tables hadn't even been served yet. The food was average (not hot enough) but the onion bhajis were very nice!

Oh well, we all live and learn and I don't regret going there because I'm keen on trying as many new places as possible.
Winegirl/Crawlie, what was the name of that place you mentioned you'd like to go to?
Kza
Apr 13 2005, 11:00 pm
Agree fairly solidly with what Kebab Meister said. Wasnt too worried about the service, I knew it would take a while for everyones food to get cooked and served, I didnt have to wait as long as KM for drinks though. Yeah food was good. Best part as always was the great conversation and laughs to be had with fellow TTers. Heaps of people I hadnt met before too which is always nice.

Yes but at the time you couldn't remember who you were saying hello for, for it sounded like 'hello, from somebody but I can't remember their name'. She smiled back though.
And yes my first curry or anything night with TTers. Almost a shame that there were too many so I didn't get to really speak to everyone, so if you are wondering who I was, I was opposite Katrina and next to UpQuark, who was very interested to learn that there may be other actuaries on TT and would like to meet up with them sometime to discuss some really hardcore number -crunching.
And Bad Doggie thought the sum used to calculate the amount spent on Curry Nights was a bit on the low side. I'd agree, gien that eeryone on our table 2-4 drinks and the average bills were easily in the 20+ range. I'd agree with him. A starter, naan or dessert soon adds another€5 to the bill - so how about a recalculate?

thanks to the organizers
agree with kebab and kza. IMHO 25+ seemed a bit too much for them to handle, even if the group was broken up into 3 tables. though overall good to get out with peeps...oh hey what happened to all the Indians in Munich...hardly any *real* Indians showed up. I have a tee-pee but Im not exactly certain that counts.

It was my first Curry-Night. Was really fun. Food seemed to be ok. I had't been to many Indian Restaurents in Munich. But i feel all others i had been were better than this one.

Hi. I am really sorry I couldn't make this evening. Was all ready when I got home my wife tol me my daughter had a tempersature of 39 so had to last minute cancel. I hope it didn't inconvenience anyone.
I work out in the sticks and my family and inlaw commitments mean that I never ever seem to meet xyou all who sound such friendly people. I hope to see you all soon.
My daughter was sleepy. I fell asleep on the lounge floor and my little one curled up right next to me.

@Kebab Meister. I will go and check at lunchtime and let you know.
That was my first
curry night and at least the company was very good! The food was average to say the least (although considering what I was talked into ordering I was probably a bit relieved that it was not as hot as it should have been). The Vindaloo was extremely mild indeed although quite tasty, and those Pakora thingies were probably just waved in the vague direction of spices as I tasted nothing (OK, apart from the cheese... MMMmmmmm... cheese)... The service was to be expected and it was only the food really that I was disappointed with.

Apr 14 2005, 8:21 am
I didn't like the place and won't go back. It was a little better than Goa last week but not by much. I tried the chicken vindaloo, asked for english very spicy, of course, got back mild. Didn't bother to send it back this time. I also ordered a started to come with my meal which didn't come till everyone was half way through with their meals. But that was better than the incredibly small portion of nan that didn't come till I was finished with my meal despite me asked for it 4 times. I also tried OG's and Vamsi's dishes which were equally uninteresting.
It was Crawlie who suggested a place. I hope it's better than the last 2 weeks since it will be my birthday curry

Has anyone ever tried that place just round the corner from Cafe Wienerplatz? Not sure of the address but it is about 15 meters down the road that meets the Innerer Wiener Strasse at Wienerplatz. Steinstrasse?

Ta for organising.
My curry was nice (am easily pleased and yes roots it was my standard lamb/garlic/ginger combo), the keema naan was small and had chunky bits of onion in it (more onion than mince), the service wasn't good but the bar opposite (Pacific Times) was lovely.

shame, Ganga is usually an excellent place with really good, friendly service. Maybe they were overwhelmed by the group size, but it wasn't a problem last time.
Deeba sounds great for next time
Onion bhajis were the best thing there last night.
Curry tasted not too bad but it was a little mild - wasn't exactly the colour I was expecting but I thought it tasted OK.

there is the
member choices page with a slot to vote for your favorite curry place, as well as the thread on
Indian People's Favorite Indian Places... in addition to the Guide's selection of
Indian Restaurants in Munich where anyone can post their review of particular places all organized-like.
And yes Anna was nice, but it did take literally an hour between our ordering and our food arriving. Nobody was watching our drink status either, we had long spells of empty glasses. Pappadums are free at Ganga, but only after you've ordered a dinner, presumably to prevent people from just drinking and eating pappadums and then leaving.
