I was very happy with my korma. Funny, it was the first korma I've had that I would call "spicy" (though def not hot - a korma couldn't be). Nice food, nice company, all around good time. Great to meet so many people I haven't met before!!!

Why are you following me around?!
Well I thought my Chicken Tikka Masala was nice and just the right level of spiciness.
Good that we got the nann breads etc. free.
They seemed to like rationing their rice though.

yeah the curry was a bit of a disappointment and when one can have just the green chillis in a place without breaking into a sweat, there is def something wrong with the spices, like KM said though, free naan and all was cool

I agree 100%, had the same and it was yummy.
OK, so the rice waiter was a spastic (not that I have anything against spastics, before you start!) and it took forever to get fed, but as KM said, I think they waited to serve us all together.
So THANKS to the munchkins who turned up AN HOUR LATE!!!
As we got free naan
For anyone who stupidly went for the bhaji and was full to bursting like me... I have a new tip... walk home! I walked for almost an hour, and slept like a baby! Great night

Curry sucked. I asked for extra hot because I was really in a mood for some heat. Well the only think hot was Arshoo sitting next to me
Seriously I sent it back because extra hot came out mild and bland and it came back mildly hot. The waiter was surprised and said he just doesn't know how they could make it hotter. WTF? You're an indian and you don't know how to make curry hot? So he brought us "fresh" green chillies which Arshoo and I ate straight. That's just wrong. If it was flavorful but not hot that would have been fine but it was bland and mild. It was mediocur curry at normal prices plus the veggie selection was under impressive.
Won't go back, won't give second try. know to many other good places now.

For anyone who stupidly went for the bhaji
I was accused last night, and have thought long and deep about it. Its going to make me feel better getting it out in the open.
I have an obession with onion BhajisDoes anybody else what to come out and admit the truth.
BTW agree with Whinegirl. The vegie selection was poor. And I said English very spicy. Ah English spicy? No English very spicy.
I also sent it back, and it was barely changed. And yes he was at a loss as to how he could make it hotter. Adding raw green chillies spiced it up, but its not the same. The chillies are supposed to be cooked in.

Ganga, Ganga my friends (okay, poor attempt at Gatanga... remember that?)
As I've mentioned many times, I'm all for trying new places! There may be some others as nice as the Sitar and Neu Delhi but if you don't try, you won't find!
I'll go along with Ganga if others are interested?

I've never been impressed wit the Ganaga
@roots You were very dubious about the Surahi; I was dissapointed with the Goa. I really think it depends on how you are known.
If you are not known it doesn't matter how much you beg them to do it properly, they will be wary that you really want it German style.

@MAM
Well, it is impossible to impress everybody in any curry house esp when the group is big. We all have different tastes.
I am currently working on my new invention called curry tastometer. Stick it in your mouth for 1 second and it tells you exactly how you like your curry with a special code. Soon all you need to say is "One Chicken Korma with x2rm9 please". The cook knows exactly what it means.
Winegirl
Apr 7 2005, 2:45 pm
Being a flavor chemist I could help you with that Roots. Sounds like a great idea to me!
But Roots you'll need to check out the other end as well to set the long term effects of your choice of curry and whether you can hack it.
Both devices to be clearly marked to prevent mixing them up.
You can of course borrow the name "Afterburnometer".
MadAxeMurderer
Apr 7 2005, 2:49 pm
Well I was talking about the only group that really matters. People who like a real curry.
You missed my point roots. If we had had you along last night the food would probably have been way better. If I had not been with the Surahi group the food would probably have been much worse.
If they recognise you, and know that that have to do it properly to impress you and your group then it will be better. Now your flavo meter could do away it all the uncertainty but until we have it, we have to rely on advance scouts charting the curry hinterland, and liasing with friendly waiters to ensure optimum performance.
