Are you going anywhere to watch it, or staying in the comfort of your own home? I'll prolly watch it from home... and yes, they're bound to score lots against Azerbaijan (just jinxed them!)

Mar 30 2005, 9:51 am
Not Sure...
We USUALLY organise the table at 17.00 hrs as most folk Sign-up between 15.00 and 17.00...
Ho hum..
I will be at Ismanning for 20.00 sit down..

I thought OG wanted 19:30? I shall wait and see what the consensus is, I know what IPJ means about travelling into town, but then she probably has a season ticket... I'll have to pay just to get out there!

Hi there...please dont let it die...am a newbie to TT but looking forward to a curry and meeting with some of you

Just lost track on what place it is going to be at...?
Cheers
JoolyBooly
Mar 30 2005, 10:10 am
I doubt it will die, we're all too addicted to curry
but if it's in Ismaning it will be smaller.. hard enough to get TTers out of
Schwabing and into other districts, let alone expecting them to take a 30 minute train ride outside Munich on a school night. I may be up for it, but not feeling so energetic right now, may prefer to have a quiet curry on my way home

Actually, no. I don't go into town enough to warrant spending that precious 46 EUR (or is it more now?). I'd have to go into town at least eight times a month for it to be worth it, which almost never happens.
As for the time to book, 17:00 is fine. I wasn't trying to rush anybody to decide. I've just never booked before, so I wasn't sure how early is necessary.
@charmed - welcome!

Mar 30 2005, 10:27 am
well, for me it's a 15min cycle ride to Ismaning or a 30min bus + train into town, both costing zilch. I can do either happily, if that's what it takes to get people to come (not that I don't value IPJ + Grinners company, of course...).

I'm not totally against going elsewhere, if that's what people want. It's just that not much has been said about any other restaurant.

Hi all
I think this post might be a bit late considering that Grinner seems to have made up his mind but could I ask: what is the difference between Rama in Ishmaning and the Rama in Arnulfst - I have been to the latter and the food is really good but they dont give the free papadums at the begining and digestive liquor at the end - I still found that the portions seem more generous than the other places I have eaten at -
Kebab Meister
Mar 30 2005, 10:56 am
@bug
I suggested Rama in Arnulfstr. but no takers.
I just wanted to try places none of us had been to this year.
Topsy
Mar 30 2005, 10:58 am
did you suggest Rama on Arnulfstr, KM?
I might have taken you up on that one... missed it somehow.
Some other time, maybe
interplanetjanet
Mar 30 2005, 11:02 am
I've only eaten at the Rama on Arnulfstrasse once, so I can't really make an opinion on it. My meals are usually better at the Ismaning one than the meal I had at Arnulfstrasse, but Arnulfstrasse was within the tastiness error.
Topsy
Mar 30 2005, 11:04 am
ditto in a mirror image, IPJ - I've only ever eaten at the one in Ismaning once.

I preferred the Arnulfstr. one, but the one is Ismaning was good. Agree also with bug - what you lose in Arnulfstr. on the poppadums and shots you gain on the doggie bag which gives you an extra meal for the following evening

Sorry Grinner but it is such lazy weather today and I only suggested it cause it is walking distance from me

hmmm, I forgot Arnulfstrasse was Rama, sorry KM... it's really good!

the details are
Ismaning
Bahnhofplatz 5, 85737 Ismaning
Tel. 089 967690
It is on the Toytown website under restaurants - there is also a map there that you can use to find it - (definately the most useful website for Munich)

This evenings
curry night is settled and wouldn't be fair to change it.
Perhaps another week we can try one of the following (they have the thumbs up on the Indian restaurant page)?:
Sangeet - Briennerstrasse 10, City Center
Rama - ArnulfStrasse 114, Central
Goa - Thierschstrasse 8, Lehel
btw Welcome Charmed!

cool, that's decided then. I shall stop being a whiney wuss and get my bum on that S-Bahn.
Plan to get there around 7.30 though like OG, is that OK with everyone? Otherwise I can't sleep if I eat curry too late.
*slaps self for being a girlie*
@ KM yes, let's try your list...but can we also try Safran? It's had some rave reviews and is near the Augustiner Bierkeller

Anybody remember the name of the place that, I think, OG mentioned last week (too lazy to look it up)? The place with the good Balti? I'd really like to add that one to the list, too (perhaps 20.4?), since I've never had a Balti aside from the kind in a jar.

OG has entered the building!
Ismaning it is then. I shall be there at 7:30pm and would hope that food will be on the table by 8pm. Perhaps Grinner can let us know what he would like so we can order for him?
I would also like to try another Balti at Deeba, just to make sure it wasn't a one-off miracle.
OG exits stage right.

You missed some yummy food tonight. And forget what Grinner says about the service - they were packed tonight. Me thinks he's one diner that's difficult to satisfy.
@OG - That meal you had was lecker, but I'll admit that I couldn't taste anything for about 10 minutes after my helping of it. TP's in the freezer.

Grinner, I said that, because I don't think that your opinion is representative of the average. So far you've had a complaint about either the service or the food at every
