Good work Ravski, sorry I ran away early, but sitting on theose shairs for 3+ hours caused me almost as much distress as the curry. Actually I think the nan bread was more vicous than the actual currys.

Okay kiddies, photos are in the TT Gallery now.
Bit of red-eye in there, apologies. SteveNZ looks particularly alien.

@Jeeves:
I buy you a beer at Bondi and you put the joghurt drink on me?? Cheap!
Anyhoo, thought i'd mention that i noticed after everyone had paid, there was still some paying off of 'unpaid' stuff.
Is this normal on
curry night for someone to be responsible for the unpaid food/drink?

KT: no, not the last pic of the evening that I posted. The one I didn't post, you know, the one taken at quarter to two in the morning. I can post it if you really want...

@There are always slight differences at the end. The owner was charging for Rahuls two friends who left early where they had starters and a drink each. I managed to collect the money from Rahul anyhow and the situation was resolved.
Great pictures.

Ok.. so where are we this week...
I suggest either the Neu Dellii or The Sitar..
Can we make it a 20.30 sit down please...
Cheers
G
I'm happy with either Neu Dehli or The Sitar.
Out of those 2 choices we were at The Sitar most recently, so maybe we should make it Neu Dehli this time (although when we went to Neu Dehli after the karting it wasn't that good, but they can get a chance to redeem themselves)?
8:30 is fine with me...

In defense of New Delhi, once they took my curry back and re-jazzed it, it rocked.
Whereas I had a curry in Sitar on the way home last Thursday, and was very disappointed... just creamed spinach with some spice and a few chunks of lamb, no consistency at all.
So I vote for Neu Delhi, despite my whining rampage when there last time
Yeah actually mine was quite good as well, it was just the others who got some sweet and sour type thing like a chinese.
So I guess the key to getting a good curry is not to let Ravski order for you

My vote is for sitar because I can't make it this week and I'm hoping we can do New Dehli next week
Booyakasha
Mar 7 2005, 5:08 pm
Me vote is with Neu Dehli, they can cook, and me mate Dave had to sit on the bog for 2 days afterwards. I won't be turning up, because me Julie has failed to stock up on the bog rolls- enjoy yerselves.

Neu Delhi made the mistake of ordering the wrong food and he admitted the mistake. Next time I want the cook to repeat the menu

So where are we this week then? My vote is for new delhi!
So are we off to Neu Dehli then this week?
Going one, going twice...
I think that in the next few weeks we should try Shiva, that DW was suggesting since we always like to try new places, especially if someone has recommended it?

Just booked a seat at the table. A hot curry on a cold winter night sounds good to me.
Where is New Delhi and how do I get there? Can I come straight from work? (i.e. early?) This is easier than going home first, generally.

I don't think you are allowed to do that--not without Grinner's approval.
Ofcourse you could go there straight from anywhere--straight from work, straight from shower or whatever
I won't hold my breath for Grinner's approval

, but what I meant was, will anyone else be there early or meeting up nearby for a beer before hand?

Kat, I plan on being there a bit early. Contact me tomorrow for details and let me know then what Ubanh I need to take!
hi all
Im what you would call a newbie to the forum. The
curry night sounds great. I would like to join. How does it work? Does everyone meet at the restaurant? and if so how do you know whom you are meeting if you are new?
Jeeves
Mar 9 2005, 1:39 pm
Yep just turn up at the restaurant. New Delhi is relatively small so it should be easy enough to locate the TT group. Normally someone will have reserved a table under the name of "Toytown" so if in doubt ask the waiter for that.
JoolyBooly
Mar 9 2005, 1:40 pm
easy peasy bug, just turn up at the restaurant at 8.30pm tonight, and we'll be the biggest group there (it's a small place)..or ask for Toytown, most curry houses know our ugly mugs or that name!
You won't be the only newbie (either to Toytown or to the curry night), and we're friendly bunch (caveat: grinner?!

) so don't be nervous!

I cna't make it tonite as it's too late, have/want to go to GM's for SteveNZ's leaving drinkies... join us after dinner!
Ravski
Mar 9 2005, 2:00 pm
Cant make it tonight, will be at a leaving due. Enjoy the food.

p.s. grinner, I still owe you some dough
@ bug
You also should follow the link in the first post of this thread.
That will take you to the
curry night reservation page where you can put your name down for tonight. That just lets people know how many people to book the table for.
See you later!
ok - thanks - will see youll then

It's right by the
Ostbahnhof, so 2 mins from Max-Weber by tram or U-Bahn.
Neu Delhi is at Ismaninger Str. 17, apparently a 4 minute walk from the U-Bahn

It was brill. My lamb goast burned twice, as it should have done. And JB's chicken tikka balti (or is that boti?) was fantabulous.
Plus I finally met Eurovol. Of course, having now done so, he probably thinks he can justify an ass-whoopin' [attempt] if I continue to refer to all Americans as "Yanks".
woof.

Better an American Yank than a British Wank!
The chicken in a pot was good, but the lamb something or other that I had at Rama several weeks ago was wickedly better.

Even though on all the porno sites a British wank is all the rage, I would rather have an American and ya know some are as spicy as a good Vindaloo!
