Curry night - every Wednesday evening in Munich

Well, I had a chat with the cook last week and he seemed to know a bit about Biryani. New Delhi has good food and good service so I thought it was a good idea to have a special event. I told them we will take over the restaurant that night. Last time we had almost 40 people and ND is a small place.

i can't remember anyone actually replying to the "are we definately going to Maharaja" question but i may be mistaken.

I think that since Roots has left this a little late, he should maybe wait till he gets back from his trip to orgnise the next Biryani night and we stick to Neuhausen for next week as planned. That way we advertise more about the Biryani night and maybe book the whole restaurant with TT.

@Roots: it was definately decided to go to NH, i don't think anyone actually definately said which restaurant.

edit: just checked the archive thread. I asked the question "shall we def go to Maharaja"

and the only answer that was given was from Jeeves "anywhere but Kashmir"

so no, i would not say the restaurant was def decided.

I'm not throwing my teddy bear out or anything - I'll come to the Biryani night and I'm sure I'll have a fab time. In fact I'm looking forward to it already

We can go out in Neuhausen some other time. I just thought it might be a good idea to actually announce the change, being as there are a few people living over here, and they might have pencilled it into their diaries.

I dont mind either way, I could attend either one.

I want to try the Maharaja at some stage as I have not been there. The reviews from the West Side have been good.

I was certainly going to come to a NH Curry (obviously), having over a week before the 2nd and not being 100% on a venue is ok unless you are a mirco-managing German ha ha (but it was probably going to be Mararajha) and won't go to a biryani night because I don't actually like them that much.
Would have been nice to know that plans had changed.

Feb 2nd -- New Delhi

Feb 9th -- Maharaja (after OG's mud-wrestling event with NH crowd)

er, I'm not going as I have spanish tonight, but where are you going? Looking at this I expect a lot of people (especially newbies) will be totally confused...

but know for sure I'll be there for the mud wrestling, fnar!

after all this faffing about I personally think Roots and OG should put on a little exhibition mud-wrestling bout for the delectation of the hoi poloi next wednesday at the New Delhi

I want a tag team event OG and Roots verses...

The mud destoyers. This will spice up the event. And yes they are the real deal. . Can I be your agent OG and Roots.

It was nice seeing everyone again and meeting new people !

I think I may have left my red scarf at the restaurant on the couch (at the end of the table), if anyone has seen it please let me know :-) !

It was definitely nice meeting more people again, and that was some yummy food! I think I had a bit too much beer though, since I left my backpack at the restaurant. I guess I just wasn't thinking.

I'll check for your scarf when I pick up my backpack in a couple hours.

Great night but I have had far better food there before..

Service wasnt brill, but he had a party of 40 in the other room... Ho hum..

Update on Biryani Night

I was at New Delhi last night. The guy who was supposed to help with this had a death in the family and had to rush to London. He will be back on Tuesday. I do not think it is a good idea to have this event on Wednesday under the circumstances eventhough it is possible. The last thing I want is a bad curry night with 30-40 pissed TTers.

I guess we will do Maharaja thing next week.

just do what suits most people, I can go to the Maharani anytime, after all.

I hope to make it to the Neu Delhi on the 2 Feb, three work friends hope to come along too.

As for the Maharaja, I really hope to make that because it's my Birthday (have German lessons on Monday's & Wednesday's so might be a little late for 7:30pm kickoff)

The quickest way is to take a flight. Other options are mountain goat and donkey if you plan to trek your way through NW border.

Take U4/U5 to Max-Weber Platz. Look for Ismaningerstr exit.

Anybody going to New Delhi has to try Chicken Manchurian. It is not on the menu but it is so damn good. It is my new favourite and I just can't stop thinkin about it

I don't smoke but my guests do... what's the score with that? They sit at the end of the table or refrain from smoking until after the meal or move away from the table?

There are no set rules.. But I would be nice if they waited till we have all finished..

Normally folk dont smoke till after the meal..
