Best make-out bars in Berlin

Ok, i've got a friend in a situation.. he's going out with a german girl this weekend and wants to know a good bar or cafe to take her were he can get comfortable with her and make out. Basically a good make out bar is what he's looking for. Something comfortable, with comfy seating (sofa's maybe), a good atmosphere, not too small, and maybe with slightly dimmed lighting? It doesn't even have to be a bar, a cafe would work perfectly too, as long as it has all these characteristics. So guys (and girls), do you have a favorite place that you would go to?

One more thing... it would be cool anyone could recommend a place near Südkreuz.

A) A hotel
B) A swinger club

C'mon guys.. are you serious?? I'm not talking about having sex with someone in a public place. You know in the complex yet interesting mating ritual that they call 'dating', generally you kiss a girl a few times before you take her back to your place. Baddoggie, maybe your the type that goes straight for the bedroom... But generally comfortable location where one can build some sexual tension is what I was asking about. I'm not asking for swinger clubs or any of that.

You're talking about public face-sucking. As both a bartender and a customer that shit really drives me up a wall, so much so that on more than one occasion I've dropped a 50 on the table and told the pair to get get a fucking room, to much applause. At least once a month I have to tell some drunk couple at my bar to knock it off after multiple complaints from other patrons.

I reiterate my question: what is this compunction? Why do you find it necessary to "make out" in a fucking public place. And why do you condemn the notion of a swinger club when it's nothing more than a natural extension of what you're already trying to find, except that there it won't disturb anyone else, nor would you be disturbed during your activities, whatever they might be.

I'm with Baddoggie on this one. couples who make out in public places are really selfish. I'm all for PDAs but within reason.

It is indeed extremely annoying, it is all good if you are the one doing the snogging but watching someone else do it can be quiet disgusting unless you are into 'watching'

A bad thing? Nah.. At least your helping the German economy by giving the girls on Orianenberger Strasse some work, cause there is no way that any half normal girl is gonna go from meeting to straight to your bedroom.

Note to gg: Oh kawntrair. A pass is one thing, a long kiss (or bit of groping) still on the side of normalcy, but an hour of tonsil hockey in a bar? No.

Note to gururise: Being low on cash makes it difficult to spend any amount of time at a bar here, much less swapping spit with someone for an hour therein.


If that nick is at all realistic I may have to ignore gg's passes and drool in another direction. The bar is, alas, not quite a saliva-free zone. However, such displays and activities are the exception and dealt with subtly and discreetly. In case "discreet" doesn't work I keep a bucket of cold water behind the bar.

I have to say, I've only been annoyed by people making out in a bar once since I moved here, because they were blocking my view of the stage at the Geoff Berner show at Kaffee Burger. Less annoying than the group of Russians that wouldn't shut up, though.

No, if you re-read what I wrote, you would realize that I am looking for a cafe or bar that is comfortable, where you could share a romatic moment with someone you are taking out on perhaps a 2nd date. Someplace where the atmosphere would be condusive for a first kiss perhaps? Fuck, didn't realize kissing is such a big deal for you all.
