Just wondering if anyone else here watches Grey's Anatomy...
Over the past year that has become my favorite TV show. Anyone else?

Used to... got sick of it. Too much drama and crying. I watch movies to relax, not to torture myself so don't watch it anymore.

True, it is lots of drama. But I still love it, especially McDreamy.

Who cares about real doctors, though. I see doctors on TV a lot more often than the real ones.

Grey's Anatomy should be renamed as Hospital Humpamarathon: Do me hard and I'll do you hard.

Nothing wrong with that if the nurses are hot.

I started watching it after last season began. I enjoy it; I like Sandra Oh and Katherine Heigl. I don't think Patrick Dempsey is as hot as everyone makes him out to be.
Mariposa
Feb 23 2007, 11:54 pm
Yeah I love them too. Though I really didn't like Izzie in 3x15-17. :/ Cristina is great.
And hmmm, McDreamy, I don't know what it is about him... but I love him.

I guess I watch it. I missed the first season, but I watch it now. But my wife is the one who's into it, I just sorta watch it with her.
I've NEVER liked Sandra Oh in anything, so it is no surprise I don't like her in this series.
And Meridith Grey is the "Grey" part of "Grey's Anatomy," right? Yea, I know it's a famous anatomy book, but it really was a play on words for the show title, a show about Meridith Grey, a flaky slutty chick doctor. So did anyone really think she was going to die? I mean, her "almost death" spanned how many episodes? At least 3? Come ON!
And who HASN'T she slept with?

Yeah, I saw that today too, and gosh, I cried. Just like last episode and the one before. And probably most other Grey's eps as well. I'm such a wimp.

No, I didn't, but I think that was not the point anyway... Which reminds me, I totally haven't read the Grey's writers blog yet.
(And it was 3 episodes, yep. I loved them.)

Feb 24 2007, 1:24 am
I think I got teary-eyed through half of season 2. I can't wait for season 3 to come out on DVD.
Bad news though- I've been reading that the creators are probably writing a spinoff featuring Kate Walsh (Dr. Addison Montgomery Shepherd). I absolutely love her, but I hate what a spin off (likely unsuccessful anyway) would do to the show!
Mariposa
Feb 24 2007, 1:26 am
I know, I read that too. I wish they could just leave every character on Grey's, and not make a spin off!
The last time a show I watched made a spin off, that was the end of Buffy & Angel (as a couple)...

I didn't like the 3 part show that much, so predictable and I kind of really wanted Meredith to die. I know she's the main character but she's the least interesting one.
I think my lip quivered a bit when Denny and Izzie passed and she paused and closed her eyes in the moment. so sad.

Feb 24 2007, 8:38 am
Denny and Izzie bug the hell out of me. They make their relationship out to be as strong as a couple who'd been together for years, and how long had they supposedly known each other? Kill Izzie off, I say.
clementine
Feb 24 2007, 9:39 am
As much as I like Denny, I think introducing his character kind of ruined Izzies. She was one of my favorite characters in the first season, but she's been really annoying this last one.
I know strong relationships are built on history and longevity, but for the sake of drama I think that people find the "what might have been" aspect of their relationship to be potent. You know what some people say, "the best romances are the tragic ones"

A tip to anyone who loves watching Grey´s anatomy (oh, and Desperate Housewives btw...), ORF1 airs the series in OV with no commercial breaks inbetween and they usually start the shows one week before Pro7...
GA used to be on Monday night (season over right now...), DV used to be on Thurday night and ORF1 announced the new season should be starting on March, 3rd... Unfortunately no date for GA so far ...

She hasn't slept with the girls on the show. Hey maybe they'll do a joint episode with the "L Word"

Yeah, do you know if I can get ORF1 via satellite? I know they took it out of the cable offer years ago (damn private networks), and barely anyone still get it via cable it in Munich. (My best friend is one of the lucky ones, for some reason she can still see it via cable.) Heidelberg probably never had it in ther cable offer in the first place. (And now I have satellite anyway.)
As for the dying, the only reason I was not completely sure she wouldn't die is because I have seen 24 season/day 5, and I know what horrible things TV writers can do.

Yeah, if you can, you should. TV shows tend to be much better if you don't know what's going to happen, in my opinion anyway.

Ohhh yeah, that was a "bad" one too. Good thing I have tissues right next to my laptop.
Now two weeks till the next episode. Could be worse. But I think it will also get worse, there are only 5 (I think) episodes left and they usually end the season in May. I have a feeling there will be a huge gap coming soon.

Just a note in case anyone doesn't know - you can download the show for free right off ABC's website the day after the episode airs in the US.
Mariposa
Feb 24 2007, 9:37 pm
Only if you are in the US.

From another country, it'll give you a message saying something like "This offer is not available in your location".

Oi! Not available outside the US? That sucks. But I guess it makes sense. How would the German networks get your business when they air it later if you've already downloaded it off the website...
Mariposa
Feb 24 2007, 10:21 pm
Exactly. I wish they weren't so smart.
I refuse to watch the dubbed version. So Pro7 (the network that airs it here) makes no money off me anyway.

Well a more proper statement would be how can ABC/CBS/CBS sell the season DVDs to europeans if already downloaded?

Thanks. I didn't have ORF1 though when I had cable here, hmmm. It was analogue cable maybe that's why. Or that I'm too far up north (I am at the very northern end of BW).
But for the past year I have had satellite anyway, so I guess this doesn't really matter to me at the moment anyway.
