The removed post ratio page shows the number of posts that have been removed from the chat forum by the moderation team or by the automatic forum clean up robot.
Removal reasons:
Posts are removed for reasons of inappropriate content such as off-topic, personal attacks, pornography, spam, or just plain lameness. Note that off-topic posts are by far the most common reason for removal. If you have a high removal ratio it's likely because you're prone to posting off-topic or idle chatter.
Idle chatter:
Note that idle chatter is not necessarily forbidden on TT. It is, however, more prone to being removed after a while. This is done in the interests of keeping the discussions focussed and of use to later readers.
Classified adverts:
Also note that the removed post count does not include "classified advert" topics that have expired, nor does it include topics from "Miscellaneous chat" that have since been archived.
Forum total averages:
The average number of removed posts is around 3% to 6%.
Member averages:
The statistics for individual members are not made public, for reasons of privacy. You can determine your own statistics and removal reasons, however, by entering your forum username and password into the above linked page. If you wish to share your result in public, feel free to post it here.
Moderation complaints or enquiries:
Note that if you see a post of yours has been removed, do not post here to ask why. This where topic is not for discussion of why posts were removed. To determine why a post was removed, either look at the reasons given in the removed posts page linked above, or send a PM one or all of the moderators to ask them why.
