I seem to remember seeing Kölsch at the REWE at Arabellapark, can't be sure though.
Yandi
MT, please let me know if you find it
Katrina
MT, you might want to try phoning Ruck Zuck on 089 161117? They are up the road from your office (Landshuter Allee, near Schlörstr.) and I wouldn't be surprised if they had some, they have a lot of more unusual brews.
MonksTown
Katrina, the one near the cinema that sometimes has shifty looking blokes hanging round outside?
I'll go in first thing i the morningotherwise they're going to be on Plus Helles in the office!

Fuuny you should mentone REWE OG as I know they used to sell it in the Kaufhalle store at Stachus that was a Tengelmann and is now a friggin Saturn!
Good Kassler they had in there too back in the day. rolleyes.gif
Katrina
That's the one - shifty blokes know their brews though.

Your local pub should always have one slightly pished local oldish bloke in the corner
with a frayed jacket and a pile of old betting slips between his calloused fingers. FACT!

I think you can buy bottled beer in Kölsch bar in Schwabing. I was there once, love this beer.

I just came from here. Either I wasn't clear, which is entirely possbile b/c my German is nearly null, or they don't have bottles of Kolsch to go. And, they had their music blaring, so even if I made partial sense, I don't think the gal behind the bar could hear or understand me anyway.

But, there was a small fridgie with some bottled beer in it, so I asked her if I could get any of those "mit nemen". There were a couple of Becks options, a Pils, and another I can't remember. I ended up with one pils and one Becks Golden for 5 euro - which seemed way expensive. But, when my hubby wants hops, I shall try to get him hops.

I may try the Rewe in Arabellapark later today...

Have you tried the toom getränkemarkt at triebstrasse in north munich? They have 150 Types of beer there so it could well be one of the best places to check out.

Bus 50 2 or 3 stops in the direction of Moosach after Olympiaeinkaufzentrum brings you there or if you have a car then even better.

I stumbled across that place a few months ago because I was hiring a van from Buchbinder next door. They do have a pretty good selection, but I don't recall seeing anything that made me need to sit down (Kölsch would fall into that category). In fact the only thing I bought was some Franconian wine.
