Hey everyone,
I just moved to Stugart, and am looking for a good hair salon that isn't going to try to give me a mullet. Any recomendations?

I can recommend Maria at Toni and Guy (address and tel. #: Königstr. 49, 70173 Stuttgart - 0711/233800).
Toni and Guy tends to be a little more expensive than other salons, but imho worth it! Depends on your budget though, I guess
Hope to have helped.
By the way, welcome to Stuttgart!

I also use the Toni&Guy (next to C&A). I cut my hair with Michel. He is very good, professional and a senior stylist. He lived in Australia for a while so speaks impeccable English.

Bringing this post back up...anyone have any recommendations for hair stylists in Stuttgart that speak English?
Thank you for any suggestions

I highly recommend Die Friseure in Boblingen. It's near Panzer Kaserne. A lot of the military wives go there and told me about it. If you are military and use VAT forms, they will accept them at this salon. For 65 euro, I got my hair cut & styled (I have long hair too), my hair dyed +highlights, a hand & scalp massage, and my eyebrows plucked. This is FAR less than what I would have paid in the US. The massages/eyebrows are a courtesy they offer while you are being styled and it is awesome/
Ask for Carolina Baldini. She is Italian-German and speaks perfect English. Her two assistants who shampooed me etc also spoke English. I tipped well here as it was all worth it, especially at 65 euro for all the services.
Die Friseure is at Breslauer Str 12, 71034 Boblingen, Phone:07031-236824, open m-f 0900-2000 and Sat from 0800-1600

Try these guys also.
http://www.velly.de I have used them and have had no problem with speaking English. Walk in appointments, and Great Price. I always get a good style that is not outdated. I am sorry I just can not see spending close to 100 usdollars on a haircut when there are other shops who do the same quality and service at the bargin price. Plus you would not have to use a VAT form to get a hair cut.

Heres been my experience - take it for whatever its worth to you
I first went to die Frisure in Boblingen where I had Carolina do my hair. Her English is perfect as well as one her assistants'. The salon is very nice and while you are getting your hair done - you do get a hand massage. You can even have your makeup done there. Everyone is very friendly. When she was finished I thought my hair looked ok in the salon but when I got outside in the natural light it was way too dark for me. ( also it felt strange - more dry than usual..) I called her and she told me to wait a few days to see if I liked it more and if not then she would be happy to fix it. The next day I called again and said I was sure and she very kindly agreed to do it again. I went back and we agreed that she would add more blonde highlights to lighten my color ( which was already between dark blonde and brown normally). I walked out of there with a few orange highlights and THE MOST DAMAGED HAIR I HAVE EVER HAD!!! I do not know what products she uses but that first time my hair felt dry and damage and the second time my hair was fryed beyond belief. literally coiled straw. Part of me wanted to go back and have her try to fix it again with some sort of deep conditioning teatment but then i realized that its best to never ever go there ever again. they are all very nice - but honestly - the worst experience of my life.
toni and guy - never had personal expereince with them but i do know its a chain - all over germany. For the right haircut and color i would pay a lot of money. no price is too high. the prices here are really expensive which is totally fine - if they do a good job! I have a friend, also here in stuttgart, who went there and gave her a really bad color... not worth the money if its not going to be good - but im sure other people have had really good experiences, i just personally think its a risk there.
ok so here i am with my totally fryed ruined hair. ive spent about 100 at haar profi near koingstrasse on products to try and manage my pile of straw on my head and i decide maybe i have to go to another salon and just find out some options about what i can possibly do short of shaving my head. my roommate told me to go to haar bar which is on rotebuhelstrasse ( next to my house) because it was the best cut and color she ever had. went in there and the guy didnt speak english very well but told me to go 5 mins down the street to his friend niko...
Nikolaos Perdikis Paul Mitchell Salon Schwabstrasse 20 - I walk in and ask them if they speak english. Niko's english is perfect and tells me I can have an appt with Michelle in 45 mins if i want. I get super nervous until i realize MICHELLE IS FROM TEXAS!!! when it was time for my appt Michelle sat with me for half an hour discussing all of my options explaining every possibility and exactly how each product will affect my hair. (For some reason when i thought of paul mitchell before i always thought of it as kind of cheap - or i dunno, not that good - but they use 70 percent less ammonia in their products and have a line for everything) Niko has been working for paul mitchell for 10+ years i think and michelle 5. they know the products really well, all of the ingredients and how they work. they really believe in it, which of course its easy to act like that when you are trying to sell something , but the extent of the knowledge they had - it made me feel comfortable. ok so long story short - i walked out of there with completly changed perfect hair. she changed my hair. from straw to silk. she got it the color i wanted. she explained every bit of how she did it. my hair is better than it was even when it was healthy before. a cut and color is about 80 for women. 24 for a cut for men. BEST DECISION YOU CAN MAKE!

I just had my hair died and cut and styled and used Velly once again. I did not have any trouble. The condition of my hair was not fried and I had a great style Cut and Dye all for * 30 Euro *
The girl who did my hair talked over the type of style that I wanted and helped me choose a good color she also gave all the time I needed to decide before she placed the color on my hair. All that and I did not even need to make a prior appointment. I have never had a problem with this salon and they are always packed with people. Men, women all ages.

I can highly recommend Hair Design by Uli und Frank in Leinfelden-Echterdingen (Echterdingen). They are a Sassoon salon, highly professional, very friendly, very creative, but also work with each customer to produce what that customer wants. There are 4 trained stylists in the salon and I've had my hair cut by each of them to satisfaction. Price range is mid-upper, but probably the same as Toni & Guy. I also worked there for a year, so I can vouch for the quality of the product. I've never seen anyone leave with a catastrophe on their heads.

Almost didn't go to die Frisure due to the critical post above, but we're in Boeblingen, it was real convenient to get there, and others had good experiences, so I took my wife there and they were extremely friendly and did an excellent job on both the cut and color. My wife can't wait to go back and take our daughters there too.

I also went to Die Friseute last Monday an I am not exactly happy. Payed €120 for average service, but for that amount of money I expected a little more than just average. What really bothered me though is that the store is not clean: The waterglass I got was seriously dirty and so are their hairclips, brushes, the little bowls for color etc. Their hygiene is the actual reason why I would not recommend them.
Maybe I was just unlucky though too.

Well, we have been here 4 months and I'm dying to get my hair done. So with all of the reviews I am going to try the Paul Mitchell Salon tomorrow and I have an appointment with Michelle. I have heard mixed reviews about the salon in Boblingen, so I'm not taking any chances. I'll let you all know how it goes! Thanks for the review Shay! I would have never picked Paul Mitchel without the reveiw.
