Are they really? I have never tried one. I made good experiences with the Yanks. With the English it depends, some can get a bit tight and after they bought a few rounds expect you to buy the next and shite like that.

They don't have to but it's a nice gesture. When I go out, I always for all my drinks and etc, unless the person invites me to have a drink/dinner with him/her.

Yes it is one of their jobs amongst many others, cannot stand tight*sses one of the worst traits in men. I am generous myself and always invite my mates, but if I notice a guy tends to be stingy then it puts me off big style. He should be able to handle his finances though, not getting bankrupt or max out all of his cards like its a custom here in the UK.

That's a custom for all dorks from different nationalities. Some men know how to handle money, some don't.

Nah the Germans don't get in debts like that, they do have debts but not like that. I read it here almost every day in the papers how much the Poms get into debts or take up credits with interest rates that should be forbidden, haha, it's hillarious.
They show documentaries on the telly regarding that debt problem here in the UK, it's only shopping shopping shopping all the time for the Poms.

Good luck finding a man with that attitude... you may want to try the deep south of the States...

Of course a man should not expect the woman to pay for everything all the time, but that goes for both. How come you can be generous with your friends but not with a man you date?

I cannot say anything about the UK, but the saving-mentality is indeed different in Germany than from the US (on average). But, in the end, it is the individual who is irresponsible with their finances. Most of the Americans I know are actually more responsible with their money than I am. And plenty of Germans get themselves into trouble for spending what they do not have anyway. I think this is a question of how you were brought up, and your own mentality.

I didn't mean it as an insult, but I noticed that they tend to take up loans here too much and that this problem is documented a lot in the press here, also read a few statistics where they stated that the British are up to their eyeballs in debt, much more than their European counterparts.
Probably also due to the fact that everybody has to get on the property ladder.

okay have to disagree on this one. i am from the south. Southern men don't like having to extend their pockets for a woman any more than any other guy. and not all southern men are gentlemen like so many think. most men don't like woman who are money hungry anyway. i have always been one to pay for my own stuff. i am too independent to let a guy pay for everything. if he insists okay, i let him pay. but otherwise i would pay for my own dinner/drinks etc. before my husband and i got married we would take turns on who pays. it worked quite well for us. now its "our" money so it doesn't matter anyway.

its women who complain that men don't pay for anything anymore and say that a man without money is no man for them that give the ones that don't want handouts a bad name. i have many girl friends that would like to find nice men who are gentlemen. but because of people, forgive me, like "Your Majesty" here that mess it up for the rest of the woman.

London is Herrenschnitten Paradise, hahahaha, that's why I am in lurve with it, there is such a variety on Herrentorten and Herrenschnitten here, it's unreal, but in the States it's probably even much better, because over there the dorks also work out a bit and don't grow beerbellies like the dorks over here, I don't like that, they should get some liposuction, I would pay for it, hahaha.
