Hot air balloon adrift without a pilot
Augsburg area, heading NNW, Sunday 18.Feb.2007
A Warsteiner hot air balloon has loosened itself from its moorings and is now sailing from the Augsburg area NNW. As an uncontrolled landing can cause damages and injuries the police are asking anyone who sights the balloon to contact 110.
So how will they get it to land? You can't airlift a navigator into the balloon - will they shoot it down like Bruno?

This is why the world needs superheros.
The air will cool and it will land eventually by itself. No navigator also means no firing of the gas to heat the air in the balloon. Hope it makes it to Munich and lands in the Panzer Wiese. My son and I are out the door.
Don't panic! It landed shortly after it took off just north of Gersthofen (where there is a rather interesting Balloon Museum by the way)
