Do you know which city or region in Germany you'll be moving to? That might help people provide some pointers.

I know the Düsseldorf area quite well, jet. What's the name of the village?

Oh yeah, Sankt Tönis. I've never been there but it's in the Viersen district near a city called Krefeld which I've been to a few times. It's not far from another big city called Mönchengladbach, and you'll be a stone's throw away from the Dutch border. One of the many things you'll like about Duesseldorf is the large number of restaurants and bars in the Altstadt - there are so many gathered in one area. Duesseldorf is quite a city, I'm sure you'll enjoy it. My favorite part of the city is the exclusive Königsallee - very nice. smile.gif

Welcome to the site, jet. I have only been through Düsseldorf once but it's fairly international and very fashion-oriented. Keep up the German, have your son learn it as well, and look forward to the longest beer bar in the world.
