Oops, unfortunately, I won't be able to make this weekend either I have committed to something else at the same time. Next time I will plan my calendar better.

Have a good time to those who go.
Hamburg Koala
how weird - I've done exactly the same thing and gone and committed to something else on the same day without realising it!
we must be pyschically synched or something...
well, don't know if that leaves anyone left this time around?

How's about the 3rd or the 10th of May for a new date?
marymanu
Either work for me!
Steph0313
The 3rd is part of a long weekend I believe, which means some may be out of town. Although, I just looked at my schedule and I know that I am booked up every weekend in May except the 31st, so don't plan around me.
marymanu
I'm not in a big hurry so I could wait until May 31st. Anyone else?
marymanu
It really seems like interest for the book swap has kind of fizzled.

I went to the library yesterday and was pleasantly surprised. They had three shelves of English books, mostly current bestsellers with a few classics thrown in. I could easily spend a few months reading through what they had in, and that was just one branch! It looks like there are 20-30 all over the city. We went to the Eimsbuettle one at Doormannsweg 12. They are open weekdays and until 2 pm on Saturdays. Depending on your age and what you want to be able to check out (DVDs are extra) it's only 15-20 euros for a year membership.

I'm thinking of finding out if they accept donations and taking the big pile of reject books from the last few month's book swaps.

I'm still interested in swapping. smile.gif But just about every time there's a swap, I'm working. Not your fault though.

Which library are you talking about - the main one downtown? There is an OK selection at Altona too. What I've been getting into lately are books on CD. The downtown and Altona libraries both have a growing selection of those.

Silty, you are more than welcome to suggest a date, time and place that works for YOU and see if anyone else is available.

Hi - I just thought I would mention that the Umsonst Laden in Altona is always happy to take English books.

Hi guys,

Just wanted to ask if there are any bookswapping meetups planned for the time being.

I have a couple of books at home from the last time, which were supposed to go back to the owner... (have to look up the titles when I'm home).

So, what are your thoughts
- generally
- on a meetup some time between mid and end November?

Have read "Planet Germany" in the meantime, anybody else around who read it? Would like to hear your opinions on it smile.gif

Hi there Hammonia -
I believe you have one titel of mine - the sequel to Bridget Jones Diary?
I'll be meeting Laurel at Cafe May sometime in Nov. as she also has books of mine to return - perhaps you can join us? (Time and day still to be arranged)
Hammonia
Hi Koala smile.gif
I don't have that book from you, I bought it myself years ago. Maybe it was another one that you're thinking of? Or was it maybe my neighbour who took it?
Anyway, if I can make it, I'd love to join you two, haven't seen you for very long smile.gif
