Moshammer, Munich's most exclusive haberdasher of the last 25-odd years, was murdered in January 2005 by an Iranian male prostitute who has since been sentenced to life imprisonment. The musical "Daisy's König" deals with Moshammer's public life among the bussi-bussi society - shrill, bombastic and entertaining - as well as with the private person who lost his father to alcoholism at an early age, passionately adored his mother and had problems contending with his homosexuality.
According to an article in Focus, (German link) the three-person cast takes on a multitude of characters, Daisy the Yorkshire terrier is played by an actress as there are monologue and dialogue scenes between Moshammer and his only loyal companion. Thomas Thalhammer, the author and director of the musical, wants to show all the facettes of Moshammer's character, including his sense of humor and strength in spite of his difficult childhood and youth.
The proceeds of the musical being staged at Theater Oberanger 15 through 24 February 2007 will be donated to BISS, a monthly magazine edited and sold by Munich's homeless, a cause that Moshammer himself always supported.
Guests dressed as Moshammer or his mother on 16 and 17 February will receive a discount on their tickets. No mention was made of the chaffeur or Daisy.
