Yesterday at 1630 police raided the game-salon Las Vegas in Bayerstrasse. The premises had been under surveillance since the beginning of december. Police were aware that gangs of Iraqi Asylum-seekers were dealing drugs from the property.

Around 80 police were involved in the operation, and 65 people on the premises were searched. Two of the people were found to be underage.

In total six people were arrested, one of whom is considered to be the leader of a gang of drug dealers in Munich.

Police chief Torsten Wittke said: "Cocaine, Heroin, Marijuana - it was all there"

However, the quantities of drugs found are said to be minimal: "they were only small amounts, but the totality counts" said Wittke. (back-pedalling furiously)

Police are keen that other gaming-halls take note of their actions, and warned that similar establishments could be next.
