Lederhosen - Traditional Oktoberfest Menswear

Pages: 1 2

I think this year I'm gonna do it proper like and get myself some lederhosen. This will be my 7th consecutive Oktoberfest so it's about time. Normally I just have my trusty drinking shirts, but this time round I'm gonna go the whole hog.

Should anyone want any, erm, assistance in buying Lederhosen I am sure that I would be able to make time...*cough*
mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
If only Hugh Jackman was Bavarian *sigh*
Back on topic, I saw a cheap first and secondhand Lederhosen place near Laimer Platz U-Bahn when we drove past on Sat. Had good prices in the window.
C&A is also good for accessories like socks.

I'll come along with Katrina to give a second opinion for the Lederhosen. If someone is looking to spend a bit more and get a pretty decent pair, Becks am Marienplatz has a very good selection.

Katrina, remind me to tell you about my first time with Starkbier and Lederhosen next time I see you.

The fascination with leather trousers may finally explain the popularity of The Hoff over here in sausageland.

BTW: Beer doesn't hurt Lederhosen, just adds to the authenticity.

And check out the link in the Guide section of Toytown for the main addresses etc...

Buying Lederhosen and Dirndls
AquaticMeringue
Most women seem pretty keen on men in lederhosen. I mostly got mine for two reasons - (1) because AquaticMeringuette agreed to wear a dirndl (and it only seemed fair that I should dress up as well), and (2) because it's all about getting into the spirit of Oktoberfest.

I have been here over a year and I still cant see the fascinantion with Lederhosen, they just dont look good IMO, I am not even tempted to try a pair on, Amimeli tried to get me to do that the other day.

Kilts like lederhosen turn people off when they see them, peoples first reaction is usually to laugh and say crap like 'nice skirt' and all that malarky. Once you have tried one on though, you realise how smart they do actually look. I think the kilt looks more fun than the lederhosen.
