Right, well, after much discussion of Touch Rugby, go karts, wind surfing and other stuff I'm feeling knackered and therefore in need of a good ole fashioned TT day in the pub, and what better pretext do I need then Spurs' opening game of the season?
As usual everybody is welcome, though I won't be expecting a sudden groundswell in support for this as frankly TT'ers aren't the biggest football fans around, however, I shall be in GMs from 1pm on Saturday, almost certainly wearing a Spurs shirt, preparing to cheer on the mighty blue and white army as we face the red hordes...
Maybe see one or even two of you there? biggrin.gif
3 Lions
I'll be there, should be good for a laugh laugh.gif

I'll wear my Oldham shirt, and should Spurs lose you can sit safe in the knowledge that your team isnt as bad as mine tongue.gif
don_riina
Yep, sounds like the sort of passtime I am more familiar with - sitting in a pub. Sunday is a superb footy day too, so I've ordered a new liver from some Eastern European blokes I was chatting to in custody last night. Sweet as a nut.
Jimbo
Yeah, I may have to forego the Sunday games for other commitments, but we'll see what I can arrange. Are you planning on heading down the pub at all mate, or just watching from the comfort of your own living room?
don_riina
Sunday I'll most likely stay at home for the Super Sunday double header, but Spurs is a Premiership Plus job, so I'll have to be at the pub for that one. I think the Newcastle v Boro game is on too, which would be a good match to watch, but I have heard that it may be postponed.
Jimbo
Then get yourself down to GMs mate and put your drinking boots on - you owe me a couple as it goes wink.gif
flogger
yiddo
you are a month early for the game.

kind regards

I wondered who paid for my hangover the last time I was at GM's
Jimbo
@Flogger - a month early for what game? I don't have a fixtures list here and I can't be arsed to check...
@ Don Riina - yeah, that was me mate - 'twas only a couple though son - guess you must be going soft in your old age.
flogger
is it a pre-season friendly?
Jimbo
The last one of those for Spurs was last night (we lost, though we fielded an understrength side, presumably because of Saturday's game).

augustus

not julius.
Jimbo
Got ya. rolleyes.gif Getting carried away there - moderators, can you edit the subtitle to 14th August please. I thank you.

foxy and jimbo did... but you managed to avoid drinking your last beer by simply shattering the glass... great tactic!!! ... will provide you with some plastic-cups next time wink.gif
Jimbo
Just over 24 hours to go to kick off - and just to be quite clear - EVERYBODY is more than welcome to join me for a few lunchtime/afternoon beers.
flogger
are they showing plymuff v ram rooters tonight?
obviously sound is needed for this top of cc championship clash.

you'll know jimbo specifically as gm's pr rep
Jimbo
Sadly mate I do not know I've not been in GMs much of late - they might put it on on one of the small screens if you go down and ask. Is it on Sky then? I might watch it at home...

Should be a good game, looks like Owen wont be playing.

LIVE FOOTBALL
COCA-COLA CHAMPIONSHIP
Cardiff City V Plymouth Argyle
Sky Sports 3, 7.30pm (2030 cet)
Cardiff City take on Plymouth Argyle at Ninian Park tonight. Plymouth still managed to reach their goal of promotion, claiming the Division Two title on the way. Bobby Williamson will be looking for his side to make a strong start in their first season in the second tier of English football since 1991/92, but Ninian Park is an intimidating place to go, and Cardiff are a tough nut to crack in front of their home fans.

let the carnival commence.
Jimbo
@3 Lions - nope, I seriously doubt Owen will be at Anfield come next Saturday - dunno where he'll end up though. I sincerely hope he goes abroad - would benefit England hugely I think for some of our lads to get proper European experience.
@FLogger - Should be a good match, but I can't see anything other than a convincing Cardiff win...or a riot.
flogger
re tonight's festival of football..as long as sam kebab hamman doesnt incite the ram rooter fans it should go off peacefully.

as for little micky.

what like beckham you mean? ha fcukin ha.

if i was being harsh, unlike me but still..i might say that owen is a shadow of his younger self (see france 98 v argies). too many injuries have set him back and he's not the player he was. lost his turn of speed? rumour has it he has gambling issues too.

maybe they dont have national hunt racing in madrid.
Jimbo
Granted, Owen isn't what he was, and I reckon the likes of Defoe may take his place come the next big competition in 2006, but nevertheless I think European experience will benefit him even in the light of it doing nothing for Becks - Becks has had a shite year though and played Euro 2004 with a host of personal problems hanging over him.

Can you bet on bull fighting???
Jimbo
Looks like little Michael Owen is off to Real then:
