I am flying out next week back to the states and would like to try out
Gunther Murphys breakfast before I leave. I am thinking Sunday the 18th of Feb for an Irish breakfast and maybe a few pints. I think about 2 PM.

Yet another Sunday afternoon spent at
GMs...just this time without the rugby. Maybe we can call up the folks responsible for the Six Nations and have them move one of next week's games up a few days. Nah, we'll just have to make due with mocking the Cowboys.

Great idea, right now I'm a definite maybe (I'd like to come but the flesh might be hungover/prep-ing for my German lesson).
Will only know for sure when I get up on Sunday.
Sorry to be vague but it goes with the rest of my image.

I'm a maybe + 1. Is there any kind of reservation needed to be made, or can we just turn up?

Oh dear did not think about reservations. Do you think it will be needed?

Feb 15 2007, 2:20 pm
Judging by the number of people there at that time on a Sunday when the rugby is on, I seriously doubt you'll need a reservation. Gauge the numbers and if it's looking like fifteen or more just give them a call on the Saturday to make sure.

You may want to make some reservations, there are two FA Cup games on Sunday.
Fulham v Tottenham, 16:00 (17:00 Here)
Preston v Man City, 13:10 (14:10 Here)
Also, I'll be there.

Shameless bump from a bastard..
Once I had a love and it was a gas
Soon turned out had a heart of glass
Seemed like the real thing, only to find
Mucho mistrust, love's gone behind
Once I had a love and it was divine
Soon found out I was losing my mind
It seemed like the real thing but I was so blind
Mucho mistrust, love's gone behind
In between
What I find is pleasing and I'm feeling fine
Love is so confusing there's no peace of mind
If I fear I'm losing you it's just no good
You teasing like you do

So i will be there by 1:30 I believe and hope to grab some seats. I was curious because I really want to try a real Irish breakfast (everyone say their great) what to order. Scogs had some egg thingy last time that he said was very good. Any other ideas or names of entrees?

Well, I would suggest the "Irish Breakfast". From the
GMs website:

All day Irish breakfast grilled Irish Bacon and Irish Pork Sausages served with a fried egg, grilled tomato and toast
Photos of some good mealsor perhaps the new
Irish Breakfast wrap?? You'll have a tough time making a decision.

I'm also planning on a 1:30 arrival (or thereabouts). The first FA Cup game doesn't start until after 2, so I don't think seating will be a problem, unless we walk in to find a couple hundred Blue Daves ready to watch ManCity. * shudder *

Good point, lavenderrain. I hear they serve alcohol in that place too! And some people even smoke, which makes it kinda hard to smell the flowers.

Joliet Jake, sowry, I just saw the pics of the breakfast yesterday. Just looking at the pics I had a bit of chest pain

However, there's an old saying ...don't eat meat, don't smoke...die anyway. In essence, life is really about having fun and sounds like you did. Maybe the next time I will come and join your group. For me, I hope they have muesli or porridge on their breakfast menu.
