Fasching Dienstag in Berlin

It is highly likely that I will have the pleasure of being in Berlin on Tuesday 20th to Wednesday 21st Feb for what is billed as a conference but for me and my colleagues will be an excuse to get battered.

I've been tasked with finding a bar/club to go to after dinner (which I think will be at Kolwitzplatz (sp?)) - can anyone recommend a place for a Tuesday night for a mixed group (ages and tastes)?

Also as it's Fasching is there a part of town that maybe in the afternoon has carnival style thing going on? We really want to get stuck in early!

Berlin does not really do Faschings. The only place that comes to mind is Staev by Freidrich Strasse.

However their web site event does not have anything planned beyond a special party in a local club nearby for Rosen Montag.

Perhaps someone will be doing a Mardi Gras thing? White Trash Fast Food had a New Orleans night last fall. Having moved here from NO last year, I'd be game for that sort of thing. I even have my own beads.

There were lots of Fasching parties last year. You just have to keep your ears open. Why do you think all the department stores are selling costumes?
That being said, I haven't paid too much attention to what's happening this year.
