Signing a deed of indemnity

Where to find a witness

I've recently setup my own Ltd company in the UK. Everything is setup, I am the Director. I have a nominee secretary which is a company. I have a registered UK address in London. Which has all been registered with Companies House in the UK.

Now I have to sign this Deed of Indemnity. Which is fine, but the problem is getting a witness to the signing. I don't have any solicitor or doctor I would normally go to for these things, so what should I do.

Does it have to be a solicitor or doctor? Or can anybody witness the signing of the document?

Any Ideas or recommendations? blink.gif

Notary perhaps?

Link for finding a UK notary.
Munich notaries.

@Dangeross, in Germany you'll need a Notar (also for opening bank accounts etc.). I expect in UK a lawyer may suffice.

Thanks for the info. Any idea how much a Notary/Notar would cost in Munich? To witness and sign a document for example.

Just to give a bit further infomation.

In the end I went to see a Notary called Dr. Kopp located at Leopoldstr 18. Friendly office staff who were very helpful. Dr. Kopp speaks perfect English and can notorize English documents without a problem. The cost was 19,- EUR which was the witnessing of one signature.

Did the Notar explain if he actually was needed to witness the signing of the Deed of Indemnity? Just wondering since if its a UK company, was wondering if UK Law would prevail, and thus anyone could witness the signing.

The Deed was required to be witnessed by either a Solicitor, JP or Doctor. It was written on the Deed itself.
I'm not sure if that just means a professional of somekind, I didn't take the risk.
