Hofbräuhaus visit - wear your Trachten!

Okay, since we have a TT visitor here this weekend, we gals, thought we would like a Bavarian Night for our Welsh girl. So, get the iron out for your dirndls and dust off the lederhosen... we are heading to the Hofbrauhaus on Saturday at 8pm.

Please let us know if you can make so, we can get a table reservation.

Oh, this could be tricky. Will have to see about the kiddos, it's a little late to bring them. (They still hate wearing trachten anyway)

Do we have any idea of numbers ? Getting tables at 8.00 on a saturday night is going to be some feat so i presume we need some early revellers to try and grab some space ?

I'll be there after the hash - in trachten of course as will everyone from the hash who comes along.

Pay attention to the work on ceiling in the front room. It appears they are painting it (restoring?) and I could have sworn the swastikas were getting harder to make out. May have just been covered by the scaffolding, though.

Will I look silly in my summer dirndl?? I don't have a long velvety, woollen one yet...

Yeah I'd love to wear mine but it is short and I feel like a tourist when I wear it...kinda the feeling that the second hand stores sell tourist Dirndls to tourists and real or normal Dirndals to Germans...
My man and I would like to come...haven't been out with a group of english speakers for awhile...

But what about my summer dirndl??? (should I throw up an pic of it and have feedback if I will look like a fool in the winter?)

This was me at Oktoberfest, I can wear a pashmina with this, however that is as wintery as it will get, and of course I will be wearing stockings, not bare legs...
I wish I could afford to buy a winter dirndl, but its out of the question at the moment.

I am wearing my shorter summer one for the Hofbrauhaus- hell, its always hot and sweaty in there anyways!

I was there today in an unplanned happening, and will probably be there tomorrow with a visitor from Canada, so see you there lot. No lederhosen though.

I have a velvety winter one, but I'll be wearing the all-season one. I almost wish I had time to go buy another one... I dirndls.

Not sure about the lederhosen yet, we'll see if i can pour myself in them.

Ok, is there a planned meeting spot? I don't know anyone so I will not be able to scan the room and pick you all out of the crowd...and it is so loud in there that I won't be able to hear the table of english speakers. Are we all meeting for drinks or to have a little food too?

Well I finally made it after a nightmare journey!!! Sorry I missed last night but Sarabyrd and Scogs warmed me up with a Grand Marnier and a beer. Can't wait for tonite. Off Dirndl shopping shortly!

Sari, Sarabyrd said look out for a group of girls wearing Dirndls and speaking English. Probably not us but at least you'll meet new people . Just kidding, it should be us.

Are we trying to get a table in the middle? I always have good luck getting tables off to the side. We will most likely need 2 to 3 tables. Would be great if they are close together.

fun night, sorry that Kilians was so packed couldn't move, so a few of us unded up in Schwabing at another Irish Bar where Sarabyrd, Andrea and myself seemed to attract the attention of a bunch of young men!
Hope Andrea enjoyed her visit to Munich and that the Munich branch of TT showed such a colourful member of the board a wonderful time.

Had an absolutely wonderful time. A really really huge thank you to everyone, you all made me feel so welcome and although I was initially quite nervous about meeting everyone I really had nothing to worry about. So any newbies out there get your arses out to events as you'll meet a wonderful bunch of people!!

There are a few people that I would have liked to sit and have a chat with but didn't really get a chance too, just so much going on. Mind you, couldn't sit too long in one place for fear of cutting off my circulation, that thing was damn tight!!!
