East German watchtower up for auction

Die sächsische Grundstücksauktion AG, a Saxon real estate company, is holding it's annual Spring Auctions at the end of February/beginning of March. Known for it's "unusual" properties, the company is planning to auction off an East German watchtower and the surrounding 14,125 m² of land located in Lehesten, Thuringia on the border to Bavaria. The bidding will start at 1,000 Euros and will take place on March 1st at 11:00 a.m. at the Victor's Residenz-Hotel in Erfurt. They are holding auctions in Leipzig, Chemnitz and Dresden at the end of February as well.

No. I am buying it. I think it'd be a blast to own a GDR watchtower.

Edit: I have a fabulous idea. I think TT should buy it-- it could be communal property-- and we could turn it into a paintball thingy. OR, we could have those gigantic sumo inflatable fat suits and fight each other. OR we could do GPS scavenger hunts...

If it has an elevator I would consider it. Oh and indoor plumbing.

What is even better is that the one that is actually for sale is out in the middle of a field. Of course, that might put a damper on utilities being available for the place.
