Super Bowl XLI will be the 41st Super Bowl. This is the annual championship game of the
National Football League (NFL). The game will be played on Sunday February 4, 2007, at Dolphin Stadium in Miami, Florida. The competing teams will be the Indianapolis Colts and the Chicago Bears.
Of interest to a large number of US citizens living in Germany is where to watch the games live. The game will kick off around midnight on Sunday and will run until 4am or 5am Monday morning. Here's an overview of the bars and pubs that we know will be screening the game:
Berlin:
Frankfurt:
Munich:
Note that unlike previous years
Premiere will not be screening the Super Bowl. Instead you can watch it on CBS via NASN. You can get this by ordering cable (in Munich it is carried by
Kabel Deutschland). They will have the original commentary, but no commercials. We guess they will carry the halftime show and some analysis.
See also the discussion about listening to
live audio feeds online.
If you have any futher tips about where to watch the game live from Germany, please add them here.

I was under the impression ARD ( Das Erste) was also showing it live.
Edit: They are starting at 23:40 Sunday night.

If they do it'll probably be without the commercials which are the only thing worth watching during those five hours of torture which the overpaid primadonnas need to play a game which is supposed to run four 15-minute quarters.
woof.
ITV are showing it, for those folks that have sky/FTV and presumably they will have the ads too.
Heidelberg: O'Reillys Irish pub and the Dubliner are both having super bowl parties.

There's always Picker's if you're in that neck of the woods. One of my friends goes there watch the Superbowl. He's a former Berlin Thunder player and loves that place!

HOF inductees: Thurman Thomas, offensive lineman Bruce Matthews, Dallas Cowboy Michael Irvin, defensive back Roger Wehrli , tight end Charlie Sanders, and guard Gene Hickerson.
Thomas and Mathews both definately deserved it.

I hope they reserved a page in the baby book for Baby's First Super Bowl. I'm sure the doctors in the Chicago area were busy inducing a bunch of babies yesterday.

There are more than one Manning in this game.
Ricky Manning, Jr. and
Danieal Manning deserve rings.
I'm willing to give the Pats a shout-out today as well.
Germany face-off against Poland is the only final I plan to watch today.

Bummer.

Was it a good game? Were the ads any good this year?
Crawlie
Feb 5 2007, 7:24 am
The ads were pretty shit with one or two exceptions. The Budweiser ads were about as good as they got together with that Snickers commercial. Great game which had pretty much everything. I got you a T-Shirt btw...

Great game. And the only ad I liked was from CareerBuilder.com. Theirs are always a good laugh. Reminds me of my own office environment.
Oh, and congrats Colts...

Well congrats to Colts fans for the victory. Never saw JJ more excited at a game but in the end it was still not enough. I was hoping for a bears victory but walked away a bit disappointed. Cheers to Jason and crew for putting on a great show for us at the arc.
