These Oktoberfest 2007 poster designs won 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes yesterday

The spinning winner is spot-on imo, although I have to agree with the SZ - the waitress's cleavage ('Dirndlbusen') appears to be remarkably well contained. Full SZ article (in German), and all the winning poster designs since 1952

Bloody hell, that 3rd one would qualify for the gay fest, not the Oktoberfest !

LOL Bluedave!
I like the first one very much, look forward to seeing it round the place!

Yep, the SZ picked up on that. The
Merkur is perhaps rather less perceptive : " ... A conservative, almost classical motif, in which three angels holding beer, Brezn and a heart float around looking to snatch away any onlookers" ("Ein konservatives, fast schon klassisches Motiv, auf dem drei Engel mit Bier, Brezn und einem Herz in der Hand daher schweben und den Betrachter entführen wollen.").

Darn, beaten to it. I think the gay one is simply
charming! But why does everyone think that the lady is a Bedienung? She could be any Wiesn guest in a
Dirndl with wood in front of the cottage (Holz vor der Hüttn).
yeah you're right sb - could be any mädel.

And a waitress would be carrying more than 1 Mass!

And she wouldn't be carrying a Brezn.

I like the winning design A LOT. Don't like the other two at all.

What's the big deal with having hearts in the posters? This year will be my first, but are they saying there is love to be found at the bottom of a Maß?

Hmm...short answer, yes. Love is everywhere and pretty easy to find...

Silly bint is spilling her bloody beer everywhere. I'd be giving her a right good bloody talking too about waste. There's people in Africa who would love that bloody beer, but no, she just chucks it about. Then she's gonna get dizzy, fall on her arse, and waste even bloody more beer.
You people make me sick.

I'm with Don. Furthermore I think that in this more international age the Oktoberfest should be like the Olympics - Cities bid to host it and then one city per year is awarded. Next year I propose that Riyadh gets it.

I don't think
dirndls will be allowed...

She's just spilling some head as far as I can see. Nowt much wrong with that.

Good thing she's shaking some salt off the Brezn, though; eat one of them in its natural state and you can feel your blood thickening.

Some women just dont like head.
(sorry... cheap joke... but im in that kind of mood)
the winning poster isnt bad... the spinning woman already gives you the feel of being excessivly drunk. after reconsideration, that poster might not be so great to look at when drunk...
That third poster though... Oktoberfest pride?
So how many posters were entered this year?
Looking at the quality of the 2nd and 3rd placed efforts, I take it there were just the three.
Also, the SZ says the decision was unanimous (hardly surprising, I have to admit I also like the winner!).
I can just imagine the judges then being asked, "so which of the other two do you hate the least?"

To make it truly accurate they need to add some Italian guy's arm reaching under the
dirndl.

Does the Oktoberfest really need advertising?

Look what I found up my horse's arse!
Can anyone confirm whether or not this picture is indeed of British actress Wendy Richard (in her Miss Brahms as opposed to her Pauline Fowler days)?

Well, if she's not a waitress, it hardly matters if she's spilling beer, does it?
I thought poster 2 was kind of cute...

I think they should take old designs and sell them as t-shirts now. Kind of a cool retro thing.
