Well, what do you know, so it is:
Advice to people travelling abroad. I went through Heathrow last week and I never even noticed. Big fat zero for observation I get.
QUOTE (DEFRA)
Fresh meat, fresh milk, milk products from animals or meat products from animals which are susceptible to foot and mouth disease [cattle, pigs, goats, sheep, deer] should not be taken or posted abroad. It is impossible to draw up a comprehensive list of every banned food

Did you have it in hand luggage or did you get searched? Or did you go through the 'goods to declare' aisle- I normally head that way by accident then swiftly change direction- must look well dodgy! I can get some next week if you like Faskally (assume thats who it is for?) as back in Londonia for the weekend- and will really go this time!!!

Had to give it up at security screening in the UK. Should have been asked at the check in counter but I use the automat and don't pay any attention, just press no for all the questions. I don't think the ban will be in place for long but I really wouldn't encourage smuggling stuff through.
frizzyjen
Aug 21 2007, 10:01 am
Its cheese!!! Hardly class A smuggling!... I'll probably give it a go! So you can't bring anything through that's meat or dairy? Oh and the bacon was LOVELY by the way.. had a big fat butty.. only thing missing was the brown sauce!

Well, from the
DEFRA advisory again:
QUOTE (DEFRA)
some examples are bacon, sausages, ham (including sandwiches or pizza containing these ingredients), soups containing meat pieces, cheese, cream, butter, milk powder, yoghurt and ice-cream. These rules also apply to items such as biscuits, bread, cakes, chocolate or confectionery, pet food and fish bait that contain dairy and meat products
On the other hand, I certainly didn't notice anyone in a hazmat suit frantically pulling the chocolate or the shortbread from the shelves in the duty free section of terminal 1. And I know someone who flew out of London City yesterday morning, and they seemed blissfully unaware of any restrictions there.

Indeed I must, Sir. Your grammar is frankly appalling, 'going to have to'. Was there a sale on at the verb shop?

What time do y'all normally go? I didn't see any mention of time. Can I jump into one of the abandoned spots? There's room on the sign-up sheet now...

I promise to do my best to curb my verb usage.

8pm. (In the sub-heading/subtitle.)
Verbs tolerated.
Edit: Seriously though, I'm sure there'll be room. We can always scruntch up, squeeze in and manage somehow anyway, but I don't think we'll have to as my spies report that the restaurant is usually quiet and pretty empty. So, see you at 8pm. We'll probably be the only ones there. Cheers.

Don't worry, 2 weeks ago we were the only group in the (2nd choice) restaraunt but still had good foodand of course, good company. I find Indian food has a different place in the eating out hierachy here in Germany than in the UK. The higher prices probably deter midweek trade, so an emptyish restaraunt doesn't automatically indicate a problem.
With the help of my friends here on Toytown I'm planning to review every curry house in the city

The worst so far has been Gaylord near the main station, not actually bad, just bland food and tired decor.

I havent eaten at Banjara but would definitely agree that that was in my top few... I think maybe the food at India Palace was more like British curries though... but was a good night!

The Jalfrezi could have been a little better. Was a little over salted and a bit under with the chillies and capsicum IMO but we're talking about the difference between being good and great. Otherwise everything else (service, prices, cleanliness) was fine. I'm sure
