Frankfurt curry night

Hi all,

well, the first Frankfurt curry night was a fair success. 14 people showed on the night, and I think we all had fun.

So, the next one is now planned for 8pm on Wednesday, 11th October at the Banjara Indian restaurant in Frankfurt-Sachsenhausen.

I think we'll mostly stick to Wednesdays in future as these are more convenient than Fridays for most people. The plan is to do curry every second Wednesday.

If you would like to come along to the next one, please put your name on the curry sign up sheet. We need a fairly exact headcount for the restaurant reservation.

Reservation will be in the name "Thomas" - so if you don't already know anyone from the group, that is the name to tell the staff when you arrive.

Well now i'm a fully fledged resident here i would really love to come and meet you all before i go crazy from screwing together any more flat packed furniture. However i will have to bail because England are playing in a Euro 2008 qualifier that evening so i'm gonna be in my local Irish Pub watching me babbies give Croatia a jolly good spanking.

Will definitely make the next one...i could murder a few poppadoms covered in lime pickle

Well I signed up for this and said that I would go..

BUT, I only just realised that of course it is England v Croatia tomorrow evening in the football.. suffice to say that after the dreadful 0-0 at the weekend, England have it all to do in Zagreb tomorrow.. Croatia have never lost a competitive international at home either.

I guess kick off is at 9pm so I could come along to Banjara from 8pm onwards for a few drinks and something small to eat, then the Anglo Irish/Sams Bar will be calling!

On a serious note though, maybe more people want to watch this football stuff instead of go to curry could do a meetup there?

I only found out last night but it is also being shown live on Eurosport (but obviously with German commentary). Ireland are also playing tomorrow night so the Irish bars will probably be showing that game instead unless they can show different games on different screens?

I dunno about that sorry I am clueless on football but I know the sports bar does show different things and probably if there were enough of you there wanting to watch the England game they'd put it on

I cant make it as i have to get really depressed watching Ireland attempt to play football, but would love to make the next one. i'm travelling a lot for work at the mo (and usually at the last minute) so its hard to confirm that i can make these meet ups, but would really fancy a put the toilet paper in the fridge curry!

Peck, not heard that expression before...although my favourite "ich sitze auf einer japanischen Fahne" translates quite well into German

Oh you are talking about the FFM one Jeevo, I thought you were just posting on the wrong thread. I'm thinking I might turn up at the Munich one as I didn't manage to catch a train up to FFM tonight... Anyone got a live camera connection out there?

Well i had chicken tandoori, and that particular meat was pretty cool

Well i had chilli chicken and that particular meat was pretty hot.
So maybe he is on about the chicken.

Prob +1 had the chilli chicken as well that was pretty hot. Not sure if that is what he means though!

I'm really sorry but I don't be able to make it up tonight. I thought it would be OK but doing it on a School Night is pretty tough now that I have an 8.00am meeting the following day. I hope to come up in two weeks time though (these happen every 2 weeks?) when I have more time to plan my meetings better!

Sorry PM but thanks for the effort. I think I mentioned that I would be very interested on Friday night, which I am but I have been invited to try a Apfel Wein restaurant for the first time so I thought the cultural thing would be good for my assimilation into German life. Defo up for the next one!!
