Frankfurt curry night

Sorry all, won't be coming up tonight to Frankfurt. Following Liverpool's win over Chelsea last night (YEAHH!!) then I'm obliged as a born scouser to see who we will be meeting in the final to be decided tonight, whether Man Utd or Milan! Especially as the missus supports Man Utd!
Have a good curry, looks like this place is going to elude me again!!

Billy I have tried to copycat you by signing up and not showing up and I think our score is even by now. So you are not the king of "signing up and not showing up" anymore.

If you look at the curry sign up sheet which shows the history of everyone who has signed up since September 29th 2006, I've only signed up once on Feb 7th 2007, and this one I definately turned up to as I paid for some people who did not pay for starters... So my record is 100% N'est pas? Signed up once, and came to it once. Its OK, you must be confusing me with someone else maybe, easily done!

I doubt that, you signed up for some dinners at the Dining Club and you did not show up. It's not a big deal, I was just joking around, whatever.

Ok people well I seem to have a toothache that is getting worse. I am hoping that going home and a few painkillers and a cup of tea is going to help. So apologies in advance if I do not make it

Hi, Sorry I did not make it. I actually made it to Frankfurt Sud at about 8PM when I realized that the map I drew was not in pocket. I thought I remembered the way but apparently not because I couldn't find it. I finally found Hainer Weg around 8:30, but I believe I was on the other end of it - way past the brewery! By the time I made it back up Hainer Weg, I was sure I would be way too late and didn't want to delay everyone's curry.

Well food was excellent as always new chef is just as good as the old one.

They just really need a bigger seating area that is the only problem with Banjara

And how is the tooth?

The Ibuprofin seems to be doing the trick at the moment so it is better but I guess I'll need to make an appointment soon

Do we just meet outside the restaurant or...? Sorry- am new to this!

We have our own table reserved. Walk into the restaurant, look suitably lost and a waiter will usually point you helpfully to the right one. Alternatively, ask for the name under which the booking has been made. This magic, everything-will-be-fine name will be announced here once the reservation is made. If Orable is doing it, it's usually 'Schmidt', but he can confirm it later.

Anyway, as for me ('coz it's all about me, innit), I'm not signed up yet as I didn't think I was going to be able to make it this week. However, now, I might yet be able to join you all. I'll know for sure by tomorrow. So, for now, I guess I'll just join the ranks of the definite maybes.

I got kind of worried when I realised that it's a holiday the day after, and that within 10 minutes of Editor Bob getting the sign up sheet live half the places were already gone... so I actually made the reservation on Friday, in my finest (ha ha) German, worse still in doing so got all panicky and told them my real name. Guess you'll just have to try Ich bin mit der zehn but never fear, I promise to be ganz pünktlich so no-one feels abandoned.

No fighting or bitching about the choice of venue or curry wars with alternative locations?

You guys have a lot to learn i fear.

OK so I'll just rock up and I think as was suggested previously 'look suitably lost' and try to work out where you are?!!! Not to worry am sure will manage and will definitely be there on time as it's only a stone's throw from me...

Just read that back to myself and it sounded like i was being nasty or soemthing- not meant... sarcasm I think was the intended underlying tone- it'S too early in the morning!

If you're totally lost, you can always send up a distress flare and we'll come looking. Actually, this restaurant isn't that big: maybe a capacity of 40, 50 max I reckon. So far, on each occasion, we've been the only big table set-up and they've put us at the back.

Oh, and I'm in, all signed up and everything.

Sign-up sheet is full, I may or not swing by. The 8 course meal (+3 appetizers) at the restaurant in Trier plus the wine samples with each course set me back quite a bit, so I shouldn't, but we'll see how I feel tomorrow evening. If I come by I'm sure there will be room, there always seems to be extra/empty spaces!
