Hello everyone,
Banjara's owner just called me and told me that Banjara will be closed tonight cause the cook has resigned today. Oh well.
Is there any more news on the Banjara? Have they got a new chef or is it to stay closed?

My cunning plan is to take a walk by on Thursday on my way to the India Palace and see how they are doing. If they are back then probably go there for next
curry night as I get the feeling it's a favourite with everyone (except me on the night it was closed...)

Not a bad plan. Although we should also try out other places too I have heard good reports about the one by Konstablerwache next to the Sheraton Arabella

OK, just to confirm a booking has been made for 12 in the name of Schmidt. That's for the 10 on the sign up sheet, plus Rachel_W and Idstein. Have to say I'm delighted with the turn out!
Anyone else please ask through this thread. I'll try to adjust the booking numbers Thursday lunchtime if required.

I am pretty pissed at the owner, cause he called me at the last minute to cancel our dinner. I don't think I'll be coming to this one. Who knows he might call you up one hour before and cancel again.

You appreciate that they messed me around on that occasion?

Mar 29 2007, 9:29 pm
Sorry for the confusion, I used 'appreciate' in the English sense:
to recognise or understand that something is valuable, important or as described (Cambridge English Dictionary).
Lifeisabuffet
Mar 29 2007, 9:34 pm
Okay, I thought you liked the fact that he messed around with me. (Messing around in the English sense of course, not the American sense I did not go sleep with the owner of Banjara...haha)

I guess Orable is the Curry-Dan, and Admetus is the Sushi-Dan.

(Dan means master in Japanese). So they each deserve a silver tiger awarded to masters on a 4-6 Dan Scale.

Well this place is famous for not being able to cope with numbers it is just so small. But I'd say come along as there is bound to be someone dropping out at the last minute

I think they're teasing me actually. Probably quite well deserved as I'm not half as competent as they make out...
I'm a bit concerned as I haven't yet managed to get the table booked. When I do manage to get in touch I will try for 12 people. will PM everyone if we need to change venue.

What U/S Bahn stop is the closest to the restaurant?
Orable
Apr 3 2007, 8:16 pm
As per the personal messages:
Unfortunately I was unable to get in touch with the guy at Banjara, until this evening. He doesn't have a table for us

Consequently I have booked us at the
Palace Of India. There are 12 places for an 8PM sitting, therefore 1 spare as it stands should anyone not on the sign up sheet fancy a last minute night out.
Palace of India
Konstabler-Arcaden
Vilbeler Str, 27
60313 Frankfurt.
If you are familiar with the Rama V Thai restuarant, it's just over the street from there.
The website has a map; also
Google Map it's very close to Konstablerwache bahnhof for both S-bahn and U-bahn and there is also parking near the Sheraton Hotel.

Most of us are in our early to mid twenties. Although I'd hate to admit it I am probably one of the more older ones. But I don't care age makes no difference to me whatsoever
