Television is a subject that can generate polar splits in opinion. Here's a chance to challenge the knowledge and gain the opinion of other TT'ers who can be arsed playing.

How do we pay Daf?

Post a picture of a character / characters from a TV programme. The challenge is then for someone else to: name the TV show, name the character(s), name the actor(s), identify in which year it first ran and say why they loved/hated/we're completely indefferent to it.

I'm afraid I was completely indifferent to this although I did think at the time that Victoria Principal was a godess.

I've never seen it so I can't comment, but I seem to remember it was raved about.

The Avengers
John Steed = Patrick Macnee
1960s (started in 1961, apparently - had to look it up)

Watched some re-reruns sometime in the late 1980s, found it very old-fashioned of course but quite fun to watch, and could see why it was considered a classic.

I'll let someone else have a go.

Hey, make sure you change the name of the picture before you upload it here! Otherwise people can read the answer just by quoting your post.
Kay
So why didn't you post the answer?
Here goes, FWIW, since I knew the actor's name (from Columbo) but had to look up the rest:

The Prisoner
1967
Patrick McGoohan = Number Six

Well before my time so never saw it.

Here is a new one.

Okay, I give up
They look familiar, especially the girl on the left. And I may have seen the show when I was young. But for the life of me I can't guess the show's title or the actors names. A clue perhaps?

Since DoubleVision couldn't get it...

Double Trouble
Kate and Allison Foster and dad
Jean and Liz Sagal and Donnelly Rhodes
1984
I liked it because of the girls. Period.

Trivia: The twins have another sister, Katie Sagal of Married with Children.

Cooter Davenport from the Dukes of Hazzard.
Played by Ben Jones in the original tv series from 1979. I think I liked Uncle Jessie so much because he reminded my of my grandpa.

EDIT - OK, here's a different actor from the same show.
