I was wondering if anyone else has problems with their satellite picture. Last night the babysitter phoned me in a panic, there was no Deutsch Tv at all and the Uk Sky is all strangely polarised and weird colours. Its still the same this morning. Does the ice and snow affect the dish? I've brushed it down but not sure whether to use de-icer.
Any ideas would be most gratefully appreciated!!! Please, I need the news at least! And then there's Eastenders tonight!!

My sat. dish is also playing up, and yes the bad weather conditions can effect it. I wouldn't keep brushing the dish though, you may knock it slighty off it's setting and end up without any pictures!
I guess you'll just have to put up with it until the weather improves...or surf the net for the news etc.
Thanks. It doesn't seem so bad outside though- only a very light snowfall and quite bright outside. Tried to reset it but still got Warped colour and no deutsch.

Pour some luke warm water over the back of the dish, and also remove any build up of snow on the "Feed arm" (In your case the silver arm that sticks out of the front of the dish)
Then un plug the receiver (inside) from the mains power supply, then plug it back in!

Okay! The Satellite is not the problem. Was told to try another Tv and this works fine. So it looks like my TV is busted. I'm actually relieved it's not the satellite, all I need to do is find the receipt for the TV which is just only a year old!!
Thanks everyone for your help!
Ps Isn't Grinner clever, diagnosing the fault via TT? Top Man!
Okay, I found the receipt for the above telly!! just getting ready to take it back to the shop now. I was wondering if anyone can tell me though, am I entitled to a replacement should they keep my tv to repair it? I have very basic deutsch and I'm not sure what's what.

No, typically you are not entitled to a replacement tv.
Aw, bugger! The kids are going to go nuts!! Then I'll go nuts as well!!! Thanks anyway!
Technomart very helpful and plonked a TV on the counter for me before I even asked

So hopefully all is well and my own TV will come back sorted in 2 weeks as promised!!
Thanks Grinner for your very kind offer of a loan TV, you're a star!!
