I saw The Police in '78 just as Roxanne was hitting the charts. We went thinking that they were the latest punk band and came away knowing that they were just a bunch of tossers. Very dissapointing gig.

...so true !! But I'm not sure I could see The Licks in their current guise and sound going past a Muffathalle-size ...possibly Zenithhalle-size with a curtain/divider in the middle. Obviously, I would love them to go back to playing the Atomic Cafe or the old Backstage side-venue which was literally like a band playing your lounge ...the key moment at that latter venue was seeing the Super Furry Animals there in '98 ...band and krew = 8 peeps. giggers pogo-ing and doing the Camden Lurch = circa 30 !!!

After the Backstage gig I thought she had given up on the crowd surfing, so I was well impressed that she went for it again, after all, it is part of the show now. The only other performer I've seen do it to the same extent was The Great Detroit Iguana, and shit! but can that guy put on a show? Juilette Lewis does steal quite a bit from The Ig... which in my book is a very fine thing.

aye, JL could have attended 'The School of The Ig' ...although she does have her own moves and possibly more class in the sense that she'd never get her genitalia out on stage laugh.gif
